Assignment !: Pakistan Democratic Movement
Demands of PDM
The PDM claims that the 2018 General Election of Pakistan was rigged by the Pakistani military.
The 2018 Pakistani General Election was won by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party.
Former Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, in his broadcast speech from London, alleged that the
Army Chief Javed Bajwa and the ISI Chief Faiz Hameed installed Imran Khan on the Prime
Ministerial post by rigging the 2018 General Elections.
First, they want a re-election campaign in the Pakistan. They are specifically holding their public
meetings in these times to pressurize Imran Khan.
The National Assembly of Pakistan has 342 seats. The PTI government has 157 seats and other seats of
allies as PML(Q) and independent candidates. The opposition parties PML(N) 10 other parties are allied
to try to make a no vote of confidence in the Assembly. A majority of 172 members of National
Assembly is required to declare no vote of confidence. Right now, opposition parties are short of
required votes to dissolve government. Imran Khan has fully taken the confidence of its allies and have
their votes. So, the only way for the opposition parties are the rallies and public holdings to pressurize
the Imran Khan and make him resign from the Seat.
As per the Government of Pakistan, the leaders of the political parties who had previously
governed Pakistan (the PML-N and PPP) have corruption cases against them. Thus, they have
unified together to oust Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Imran Khan believes that all the corrupt leaders are either being convicted in the court of law or on a
medical bail. The real reason behind this is just to create hurdle in the way of progressing Pakistan and
NOCs for the corrupt political figures. Maryam Nawaz had also been declared as corrupt by the court
and is now leading the PDM. Bilawal Bhutto is also creating a mess and wants public to hate the armed
forces. Imran Khan in an interview said that the intelligence agency helped the government gathering
the information about the corrupt former Prime Minister Nawaz Shareef and his other ministers. This is
the reason they hate the armed. Imran Khan has also announced that a system will be implemented
where after the elections the other parties would have to accept their defeat and not to blame anyone.
PDM Leaders
First that all the PDM leaders are deceptive. They have no credibility to blame anyone in the
government. A leader is only credible if he is honest. All the figures propagating this movement are
corrupt or are trying to save their corrupt parents. Nawaz Shareef was working with the General Zia ul
Haq and was brought into politics by the Zia. But now because the agencies helped in gathering
evidence against him, he is angry with them and now declaring the Chief of Army Staff a person who is
behind the establishment. The younger brother of his Shahbaz Shareef is also in Jail these days because
of the corruption cases. Asif Ali Zardari is also being investigated and have billions of dollars
Opposition
The opposition parties have always played the dirty politics. They tried to defame the government and
armed forces at each and every moment. They take the advantage of freedom of speech and defame
Pakistan internationally. The Ayaz Saadiq at the national assembly of Pakistan defamed the government
and the army. He said that the government handed over the Wing Commander Abhinandan just
beacause they were afraid of invasion from the India. And the General Qamar Javed Bajwa was
frightened of India. In fact, the government handed over the Abhinandan as a sign that Pakistan do not
want a war and we just want peace. But the PML(n)’s former Speaker of Assembly in clear words
defamed Pakistan. This is the non-credibility of PDM leaders. The slogans of VOTE KO IZZZAT DO were
chanted on the Tomb of Quaid and it was so dis-respectful. They chant this slogan as the elections were
fixed. But what the illiterates don’t know is that European Union and council accepted the elections
conducted in June 2018. The corona has arrived and right now Pakistan needs to work on safety
precautions and social distance. The PDM is now again playing dirty politics and holding rallies If the
condition gets worsened, it would have serious impacts on the economy. They are using it to pressurize
Imran Khan and government. Prime Minister has told the opposition to not hold rallies under corona
virus situation but they are behaving as a stubborn child and putting the lives of people in risk. If they
don’t understand verbally then some other steps are taken and then they propagate that Government is
afraid of us and don’t want us hold public meetings. This is the kind of dirty politics the families are
playing against the government.
My reviews
Right now, the PDM is pulling no punches. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)
founder and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who was convicted of corruption in
2018 but is now based in London after receiving medical bail, has delivered fiery
video speeches at two different rallies. He called out by name the head of Pakistan’s
army, Gen. Qamar Javed Bajwa, accusing him of engineering Sharif’s ouster in 2017
as well as the 2018 election victory of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.
Rarely has a senior Pakistani leader made such specific allegations by name against a
sitting army chief so publicly.
Pakistan Democratic Movement is nothing but some children who are desperate
to save their corrupt parents. The family political personalities who have no
credibility and struggle to propagate anything against the current government. As
long they hold these events the more people will know the truth about them.
Defaming the government and its institution will only help the India. They just
want to spread the hate for their own benefits and they can go to any extent for
it. But what capture my eyes is that people still follow them blindly. They had
thrown the Pakistan into a well and now when we are trying to come out, they
are again playing dirty politics and keep placing barriers into our way to progress.
Yes, the Imran Khan’s government is struggling in the economic systems but
things take time to settle down.
