Teenagers’s doing part-time job with its advantages and disadvantages has been a
controversial issue. This essay will point out some certain benefits, followed by an
analysis of drawbacks with and a reasoned conclusion.
Undeniably, part-time job brings tremendous benefits to teenagers. Iin this day
and age when teenager’s doing part-time job is gradually increasing from all
corners of the earth, which brings there isare a great number of advantages that
most teenagers do part-time job. First of all, after hours of studying they can go
out to do extra activitiesy such as doing a part time job. That gives them work
experiences which are excellent for a resume. they would be formed to have good
working habits. Furthermore, indispensable dominances for teenagers doing part-
time job are gaining useful skills such as improving their communication, handling
people, interview skills and filling out job applications Secondly, that is to say that
they could earn their own allowances to pay for some their expenses, which. This
means that adolescents can not only learn how to effectively manage finances but
also learning time management skills.. Last but not least, an after school job might
help teenagers reinforce new confidence, sense of responsibility and
independence.
On the other hand, there are obvious disadvantages for teengers to do part-time
job. In the first place, Doing a part-time job could be time-consuming. As a result,
there might be less time for homework, higher rates of absenteeism and less
school involvement. Employment may place constraints on the student’s study
and relaxing time. Similarly, spending too much time on after- school- job may
results in lack of preparation for the day’s academic activities, which may tend to
discourage the working teen from going to school and a job may take the place of
extracurricular activities. For that reason, it is shown that the working students
who work less hours in a week have higher grades than those who work too
much. This has been confirmed by a recent research which showed that working
students are more likely to use drugs and alcohol. Depending on the maturity
level of teenagers and the type of job obtained, they might develop a negative
view of work and increase stress.
In conclusion, while there are plus points to having a part-time job after school
hours, it has extremely negative impacts on teenagers.
