Arrangement during the Covid-19
Pandemic

1. OBJECTIVES:

1.1 To provide clear policies, guidelines and rules on Work From Home
(WFH) arrangement of all affected Non-Legal Personnel of BPCL Law
during the pandemic.

1.2 To ensure that the BPCL Law is compliant with all existing laws and
regulations.

1.3 To preserve health and safety of Non-Legal Personnel and to promote


efficiency and increased productivity.

2. POLICIES / GUIDELINES / RULES:

2.1 In cases where the government allows a full complement of employees


to be physically present at the office, a WFH arrangement may be validly
authorized if the following conditions are met:

2.1.1 There is lack of reliable public or private transportation or is


otherwise too expensive or unsafe as to allow an employee to
safely get to the office to perform work on time;

2.1.2 There is an existing emergency that restricts or prevents an


employee to physically go to work;

2.1.3 There is an official report that the area where the employee is
staying is quarantined or otherwise found to have cases of Covid-
19 which may put the other employees at risk of infection;

2.1.4 That the employee has, at the place where WFH is to be done,
the necessary equipment (computer, laptop, smartphone, etc.)
and infrastructure (electricity, internet connectivity) to perform
work;

2.1.5 That the employee availing of WFH arrangement has filed the
necessary request with the Office Manager; and

2.1.6 The Management Committee or any Partner, has expressly


granted the request mentioned in 2.1.4.

2.2 In case where any one of the above requirements are not met, the
employee concerned shall be deemed absent without leave (AWOL),
unless the said employee timely avails of existing leave, to which the
absence shall be credited against.

2.3 In cases where there is government-imposed reduction of employees


physically present in the office at a given day/time, the Office Manager
shall send a recommendation to the Management Committee as to the
roster of employees who shall be physically present and those who shall
be WFH.

3. PROCEDURES

3.1 An employee who intends to WFH shall submit to the OM two (2)
copies of the prescribed WFH form. One (1) copy of this form will be
filed in the employee’s 201 File while the other one will be the
employee’s copy. (See Annex “A” for the sample of BPCL Form No.
PEMB – ___)

4. IMPLEMENTATION RESPONSIBILITY

This Policy Circular shall be implemented by the Partner-in-Charge of


Administration and Human Resources and the Office Manager.

5. REPEAL / AMENDMENT PROVISION

This Policy Circular repeals all prior policy issuances of the Firm on the
subject covered hereunder.

All prior issuances, on the same subject, that are inconsistent herewith are
deemed amended, repealed or superseded.

6. EFFECTIVITY

This Policy Circular shall take effect on November 1, 2020 and shall remain
in full force and effect until a subsequent Policy Circular is issued repealing
or amending this Policy Circular.
