MAPEH COORDINATOR

I. INTRODUCTION

In our everyday routine in school MAPEH plays a vital role in childrens development not only physical and
mental but most importantly in social aspect of life. This subject is quite interesting and enjoyable because it develop
the knowledge, skills and attitude of the learners. sisa group of subjects in school. It stands for Music, Art, Physical
Education and Health. They are important because they culturally enrich students and help them enjoy and learn new
things.Students can develop their special skills and attitudes through sports, dance, arts, and health activities.
Around the world, Filipinos are known for their talents, be it singing, dancing and even acting. These
talents are recognized and developed which contribute to the richness of the Filipino culture. National Arts Month is
celebrated every February to promote Philippine Arts, including music, dance, visual arts, architecture, film and
literature. By celebrating National Arts Month we are recognizing each talent that contribute to the richness of the local
culture.

II. ACTIVITIES
Based on the Division Memorandum no. 20.s.2020, 29 th National Arts Month Celebration with the theme: “ANI
NG SINING: PHILIPPINES ARTS FESTIVAL.” Our school, Sinalmacan Elementary School tries to cooperate and join this
celebration. Orientation of the activities was given by yours truly, as the MAPEH Coordinator in our school also
emphasized the importance of arts in our daily life. Brainstorming suggestions were aired of what particular activities
our pupils will be having. Pupils and teachers agreed on having Zumba dance, film viewing, and making hearts month
décor. Another activity that carefully prepared and planned were contest in singing, dancing and theatrical arts. The
criteria for judging will be given. After that winners will receive a certificate and award. At the program proper pupils
really showcased their talents and each participant exerted their effort and showed eagerness in participating this
activity.

III. PROBLEMS MET/ SOLUTION

One of the problems met during these activities is the participation of some parents. Another one is the health
of others pupils who cannot join the physical fitness test due to health problems.

But then, as a teacher we have to do something out of this. Let us encourage parent’s participation and orient them on
the importance of MAPEH subject. To the learners with health problems, we gave them special activity so that they will
not deprived of learning.
