JAMB 2020 – 7th ASEAN JAMBOREE (25- 29 NOVEMBER 2020)

ASARC, abbreviation of ASEAN Scouts Association for Regional Cooperation, is an association of


National Scouts Organizations (NSO) in the South-East Asian region, who commit to enhance the
spirit of cooperation, unity, brotherhood and solidarity in Scouting for ASEAN by developing and
promoting Scouting in the region based on the principles of Scouting and the ASEAN Charter, for the
benefit of ASEAN community, especially the young people.

The Singapore Scout Association (SSA) assumed the chair of ASARC in 2018 and is hosting the 7th
ASEAN Jamboree, to be held in Singapore In November 2020. Themed ‘Spirit of Amity’, the
Jamboree seeks to demonstrate the unity of ASEAN Scouting through the sharing of cultural
diversity and tolerance. The focus of the Jamboree will be to amalgamate technology into the
Scouting experience while empowering our youths to demonstrate a commitment to nature and the
environment by providing for a sustainable camping experience.

The Jamboree experience will centre itself in exploring Singapore by moving participants around the
island daily, using public transport such trains and buses by leveraging on the Singapore
Government’s Smart Urban Mobility initiative. Jamboree activities include both on-site and off-site
fun-filled educational programmes. There will be ample opportunities for participants to forge and
foster friendship throughout the Jamboree.

We therefore cordially invite your NSOs to encourage the participation of your Scouts and Leaders in
the 7th ASEAN Jamboree which is scheduled from 25 - 29 November 2020

Appended below is the preliminary information on the Jamboree.

Participants must arrive on the morning of 25 November and leave the
Jamboree site by the night on 29 November 2020

Venue : Sarimbun Scout Camp ,MOE Jalan Bahtera Camp & Camp Christine, SIngapore

Theme : Spirit Of Amity

Eligibility : Young people (Boys and Girls) aged 11 – 17 are welcome to join the Jamboree
as participants.
Leaders and Rovers aged 18 and above may sign up as members of the
International Service Team (IST)
Jamboree Fees : SGD $380 inclusive of Singapore Government Tax (Foreign Participants aged
11-17 years old)
SGD $280 inclusive of Singapore Government Tax (Rovers & Leaders aged 18 &
above)

The fees cover meals from lunch on 22 November to dinner on 29 November


2020, tentage, activities on‐site and off-site educational visits to places of
interests, jamboree souvenirs, insurance; inland transportation between
airport and the Jamboree site and to and from off‐site venues.

Please fill up the enclosed initial Reply slip A and submit to Singapore Scout Association by 30 June
2020. We will appreciate it if you will disseminate and share this information with your members.
Above all, we encourage your NSO to form a participating contingent to the Jamboree.
