1. Open a workbook and rename Sheet1 and Sheet2 to First Grading and Final Grade respectively.
2. At First Grading Sheet, type the following:

3. Insert two columns between columns A and B, then type Mother’s Name on cell B1. In cell C1, type
Father’s Name.
4. Highlight Column heading B and C. Right-click then choose Hide. Now look at the Column heading. What
happened?

5. What do you think should you do to make Column headings B and C reappear after hiding them?

6. Change the zoom settings to 85% by clicking the zoom box at the Toolbar and choosing the
specified zoom percentage.
7. At cell G2, type =SUM(D2:F2) then press enter.
8. Position your cell pointer at bottom-right corner of cell G2 for the fill handle to appear. Click and drag until
cell G6. Describe what happened.

9. At cell H2 type the formula that would obtain the average (Multiplied by 100) for D2:F2 considering the
value of D1:F1 as the number of items. As you did in cell G2, use the fill handle to copy the formula from
H2 down to H6. Look at the Average you’ve obtain at H3 to H6. Are the values correct? If not, how do you
correct it?

10. At cell I2 type the following =IF(H2>=75,"Passed","Failed"). Copy the formula down to cells I3 to I6.
11. Copy the first grading worksheet by right-clicking the first grading sheet tab and choosing Move or Copy.
Do it twice and rename the sheet tabs of these two copies as second grading and third grading.
Rearrange the sheet tabs so that First grading will come first, followed by second grading, Third grading
and the Final Grade.
12. Change the color of the sheet tabs to the following: First grading – Light Blue; Second grading – Yellow;
Third grading – Orange; Final Grade – Light Green.
13. At the Final Grade worksheet, click A1 then type the following ='First Grading'!A1. Copy the formula till
cell A6.
14. At cell B1, link the value of Cell I1:I6 of First Grading worksheet by using formula same as the one used in
step 13.
15. Save this as Activity 5under the folder Workbook.

1. Create a new blank workbook.


2. Type the folowing data in Sheet1.

3. Compute the average of Q1 and Q2 and the average of Rec. and Attn. of Tiburcio.
4. Using AutoFill copy the formula of D4 to cell range D5:D8 and G4 to cell range G5:G8.
5. Compute the grade of Tiburcio. The grade is equal to the sum of the 15% of the average of Q1 and Q2,
10% of the average of Rec and Attn, 25% of Lquiz, Exer and Exam.
6. Copy the formula of cell K4 and paste it onto cell range K5:K8.
7. Rename Sheet1 as Prelim
8. Copy Prelim worksheet before Sheet2.
9. Rename Prelim(2) sheet as Midterm
10. At Midterm sheet, clear the contents of cell ranges B4:B8, C4:C8, E4:E8, F4:F8, H4:H8, I4:I8 and J4:J8 and
cell A1.
11. Type the following data in Midterm sheet. Note: Do not the delete the formulas under Ave and Grade.

15. Type the following data on Tfinal sheet. Note: Do not the delete the formulas under Ave and Grade

18. Link the value of the Prelim grade (K4:K8) of Prelim worksheet, Midterm grade(K4:K8) of Midterm
worksheet and Tfinal grade (K4:K8) of Tfinal worksheet to the appropriate cells in Finals worksheet
(B4:B8,C4:C8,D4:D8)
19. Compute the final grade of Tiburcio by getting the average of Prelim, Midterm and Final Grade.
20. Using Autofill, copy the formula of E4 to cell range E5:E8.
21. Display in cell F4 the word Passed if the Final Grade of Tiburcio is greater than or equal to 74.5, otherwise
display the word Failed.
22. Copy the formula of F4 to cell range F5:F8.
23. Save the workbook as Activity6
