Technical Synopsis

The study aims to examine the relationship between the perceived academic stress and coping
strategies towards suicidal ideation levels among nursing students of Velez College. Toero et al.
(2001) argued that the expectation to succeed in school and suicidal activities among children
and teenagers are closely related. In nursing students, academic stress has been seen as a barrier
to attention, problem-solving capacity, and mental wellbeing (Reeve et al., 2012). The strain
theory of suicide behaviors suggests that deficient coping can contribute to suicidal behaviors as
one of the most significant causes of strain (Speckens & Hawton, 2005). This study will be
utilizing a non-experimental quantitative cross-sectional correlational study design.The main
respondents of the study are the Velez College Nursing Students of school year 2020-2021.The
study will be utilizing Slovin’s formula ( Cristobal, 2009), 245 (e=0.05) will be the total number

be enrolling the eligible participants into an online automated random name selector until the
desired sample size is achieved. Simple random sampling will be used. Afterwards, the
researchers will contact the selected participants through Microsoft Teams and to provide them
with a copy of the informed consent form with maximum 48 hours given to sign it.
Questionnaires will be answered through google forms. During the administration of the survey,
the researchers are present to answer any queries from the participants. Then, researchers will
immediately collect and sort the data collected for the data analysis procedure. The study will
mainly be utilizing statistical methods.
The main facility of the study will be the Velez College Institution. Data collected will be
accessed by the researchers only. The researchers will implement certain measures and certain
protocols in order to ascertain that the privacy and confidentiality of the respondents. Risks of
the study will include potential breach of the privacy and the confidentiality of the results,
