at site.
 Sample mock-up suspended ceiling works will be reference for workmanship for suspended ceiling works as
it complies with specifications.
 Verify the layout that there is no interference with other services.
 Finished floor level marking shall be marked at several locations using levelling instrument.
 Verify that perimeter wall shall be plastered to minimum 100 mm above false ceiling level.
 Based on available approved finished floor levels, desired false ceiling levels shall be marked on perimeter
walls.
 Continuous line shall be marked as false ceiling level using chalk line.
 Fix wall angles /perimeter trim on the marked line by using screws of 25 mm length or concrete nails, spacing
@ 300 mm c/c at 100 mm from both sides.
Installation of Ceiling Tiles (Aluminium Tiles, Mineral Fibre & Gypsum Tiles)
Fixing of Suspension System -General
 Ensure that all MEP fittings are installed and get approved prior to start of false ceiling installation.
 Approved shop drawings shall be followed for installation of the ceiling tiles/ panels.
 Location of the main runner (Main Tee) shall be finalized.

 Ceiling clip shall be fixed to the structural soffit by using power gun at space 1200mm c/c with starting point,
maximum 250 mm way from wall.
 Ø4 mm suspension wire with adjustable clips shall be hanged from ceiling clips.
 In areas where fixing of ceiling clip is not possible due to the dense MEP Services; additional bridging/cross
bracing (provided by Main Contractor) shall be fixed below the services and suspension wire shall be hanged
from it.
Suspension System -Tee Grids (for Lay-in System)
 The main “Tees” profiles (3600 mm long) are installed parallel to each other’s at a distance of 1200 mm
centres.
 1200 mm cross tee profile is then fixed perpendicular to main tee profile, at a distance of 600 mm centres,
thus forming a module of 600 x 1200 mm.
 Finally, 600 mm cross tee profile is fixed in centre of 1200 mm cross tee profile, forming the module of 600 x
600 mm in which the tile will be layed in.
Suspension System -Spring Tee (for Clip-in System)
 The primary profiles are fixed parallel to each other at a distance of 1200 mm centres.
 The secondary profiles (spring tee) are fixed perpendicular under the primary profile, using cross connector at
a distance of 600 mm centres, when the tiles will be clipped.
Checking the Suspension System
 When the Suspension System is installed the levels and angles should be checked and if necessary, the levels
should be adjusted using adjustable clips.
Opening MEP Services
 When the Suspension System is ready and the final levels are adjusted, the tiles can be fixed by clip-in/lay-in
on 600 x 600 module created by Spring Tee/Tee Grids.
 Initially only the services tiles will be fixed so that the MEP Contractors shall mark the openings for the
services in the ceiling tile as per proved shop drawings allowing us to cut the respective openings.
Closing if Ceiling Tiles
 After the cutting of service openings are completed the MEP Contractor shall install all the services as per
approved layouts.
 Final clearance shall be obtained from MEP Contractor as a standard process prior to starting closing of
ceiling.
 After receiving the clearance for closing of ceiling, the installed suspension shall be checked for levels and
alignment if necessary, it shall be adjusted for final installation.
 When the suspension is ready and final level adjusted, all the ceiling panels will be installed by clip-in/lay-in
on 600 x 600 mm module created by already installed Spring Tee/ Tee Grids.

Installation of Gypsum Board Ceiling

Fixing of Suspension System
 Ensure that all MEP fittings are installed and get approved prior to start of false ceiling installation.
 Approved shop drawings shall be followed for installation of the areas for Type of Gypsum Board.
 Location of the main channel (C Chanel) shall be finalized.
 Ceiling clip shall be fixed to the structural soffit by using power gun at space 1200mm c/c with starting point,
maximum 250 mm way from wall.
 Ø4 mm suspension wire with adjustable clips shall be hanged from ceiling clips.
 In areas where fixing suspension hangers from concrete soffit is not possible due to the dense MEP Services;
additional bridging/cross bracing (provided by Main Contractor) shall be fixed below the service and the
hanger shall be suspended from it.
Fixing of Main Channel and Secondary Channel
 The main channel will be fixed to the suspender hanger by 10 mm channel bracket.
 After fixing the main channels to suspended hanger the secondary channel (furring channel) is fixed to the
main channel in the perpendicular direction by using special clips called “Performed clip” at a maximus
distance of 600 mm c/c.
 Where the presence of mechanical work or lightning fixtures prevents the fixing of runners to hangers provide
supplementary framing to achieve equivalent support of main runner.
 Construct of vertical bulkhead will be done at location as per approved shop drawing by metal tracks/studs or
angular channels as per approved details.
Checking the Suspension System
 When the suspension system is installed the levels and angles should be checked and if necessary the levels
should be adjusted using adjustable clips.
Installation of Boards
 Install the gypsum board at locations shown in approved shop drawings.
 Obtain necessary MEP Clearance prior to starting closing of boards.
 Gypsum board shall be fixed to the metal framing by drywall screws.
 Bulkhead shall be installed at location shown on approved shop drawings and whenever required as per the
Engineer instructions.
 Screw will be fixed to the furring channels with 300 mm spacing and not closer than 100 mm from edges and
ends.

 Screw head will be embedded inside board.

 Boards will be fixed staggered to avoid continuity of board joints in both directions.

Opening of MEP Services

 When the gypsum board is fixed the MEP Contractor shall mark openings for services in the ceiling as per
approved shop drawings allowing us to cut the respective openings.
