Functions description:
No. F unc tio n na me Description
Under automatic operation or attendant operation mode, the operating elevator
Co l l ect i ve sel ect i ve can respond to car calls as well as up/down hall calls, so as to make sure
1
sche du l i ng co nt ro l passengers at each floor can take the elevator through registration of call
instructions.
2 Up collective control Elevator only responds to up hall calls.
3 Down collective control Elevator only responds to down hall calls.
Attendant operation (non-automatic) can be activated by switching on the
4 At t e nd ant o p erat i o n
attendant operating switch in the car operating panel. Under attendant

11 / 394
E9 Serial Elevator Integrated ControllerUser’s Manual

operation, the elevator cannot close the door automatically, and the attendant
has to continuously press the closing button until the door is fully closed.
Attendant operation includes functions of selective direction control, straight
operation, hall call registration prompting etc. Meanwhile, the door-closing
mode can be set as pressing the closing button only once or continuously until
the door is fully closed. The other functions are the same as automatic
operation.
Under automatic operation, if the Door Locking switch is on, the elevator
cancels all the hall call instructions and would not register new car calls until
the last car call instruction is executed. Then the elevator returns to the lock
5 Lo ck t he el e vat o r station, closes the door and cuts off the lighting and fan power before stopping
and entering into energy-saving mode, with the door switch buttons still being
effective. The elevator returns to normal operation when the Door Locking
switch is off.
When the switch of fire emergency return is effective, elevator cancels all the
hall calls and car calls immediately.
F i re emerg enc y If at non fire base station, the elevator closes the door immediately and returns
6
ret u rn to the fire base station.
If the elevator is running, it stops at the nearest landing floor and heads toward
the fire base station without opening the door.
Elevator cancels all the hall calls and car calls when the firefighting service
switch is effective.
Elevator closes the door immediately if it stops at non fire base station, and
returns to the fire base station automatically.
Elevator stops at the nearest landing floor if it is still operating, and then heads
toward the fire base station without opening the door. After arriving, the
elevator will keep the door open and enter fireman operation mode.
7 F i refi ght i n g ser vi ce Under fireman operation mode, the door opening & closing cannot be done
automatically unless pressing the opening or closing button. The elevator only
responds to car calls, and it will cancel all the registration after arriving. When
the elevator stops at base station and fully opens the door, it resumes normal
operation after both switches being reset.
Under inspection operation, firefighting service is not available, but it
becomes effective when the elevator is shifted to normal operation and the
firefighting signals still exist.
When the VIP service switch is effective:
If the elevator is standing by, it goes to the VIP floor directly, opens the door
and waits.
8 VIP servi ce
If the elevator is running, it cancels all the hall calls and car calls, and goes to
the VIP floor directly, opens the door and waits.
After the VIP chooses his/her destination floor and presses the closing button

continuously until the door is fully closed, the elevator goes to the destination
directly and opens the door. After that, the elevator resumes normal operation.
Elevator returns to the base station and waits there if no car call and hall call
9 Au t o mat i c parki ng
instructions are registered exceeding the setting time.
When two elevators are under parallel operation, the system will reasonably
dispatch the two elevators following the minimum waiting time principle in
10 P aral l el o perat i o n
terms of registered hall calls, so as to decrease the waiting time of passengers,
improve efficiency and save energy.
By setting the parameter (G.010), the elevator can only stops at odd floors in
Odd-e ve n dat e
11 one day, and at even floors the next day. Odd-even date operation works in a
o perat i o n
two-day cycle and repeats automatically.
Under independent operation, the elevator responds to car calls only without
Inde pe nd ent responding any hall calls with the hall call board displaying SP (stop). After
12
o perat i o n arriving, all the car calls will be cancelled and the door cannot be
automatically closed.
Under normal operation, elevator responds to hall calls from every floor.
Ar bi t rar y set t i n g When certain floors are set as non-service floor, the elevator will not register
13
fo r servi ce fl o o rs hall calls from those floors, thus prohibiting usage of elevator. Service floors
can be set through parameters P.001~p.004.
Through parameter setting, the elevator can stop at the security floor and open
the door automatically each time it passes by the security floor within the set
14 Security floor selection period of time. G.003 is for setting the security floor, G.004 for mode of
elevator stopping and opening, G.005/G.006 for starting time and ending time
of the security floor respectively, and F.113 for the door opening mode.
This function is designed for testing or examining new elevators. When the
Au t o mat i c t est i ng elevator is set to be in test operation, it will keep running automatically. The
15
o perat i o n running times and whether to open the door while operating can be set through
parameters.
Di rect ru nni ng
wi t ho u t u nneces sar y Under automatic operation, elevator only responds to car calls when it is
16
st o ps u nder fu l l full-loaded. Hall calls will only be registered but not responded to.
cap aci t y
When the elevator runs at normal speed and stops at non-door area, it will
17 Au t o mat i c l e vel i n g automatically move to door area at a low speed and open the door once the
operating requirements are met.
Di rect p arki ng The elevator decelerates according to the distance algorithm, and levels
18
wi t ho u t creepi n g without creeping.
Prior to formal operation, the control system can automatically learn all kinds
19 Sh aft au t o l earni ng of data (height of the building, locations of protection switches, locations of
forced deceleration switches) of the shaft through shaft auto learning function.

13 / 394
E9 Serial Elevator Integrated ControllerUser’s Manual

It will automatically save these data after learning.

20 Ac cel er at i o n set t i n g Acceleration can be set based on practical situation.
When the signal of light load is effective, the system will cancel all car call
registrations if the number of car calls exceeds the set value.
21 Ant i -nu i san ce Under normal operation, the system cancels all the car calls if the times that
the elevator stops to open the door reach the set value before any light curtain
induction is detected.
The manufacturer can set maintenance date, frequency and power-on time to
remind maintenance staff to maintain the elevator. If the maintenance date/
Mai nt ena nc e
22 frequency/ power-on time exceed the set value, the elevator will stop
fu nct i o n
operating after executing the last call instruction. Meanwhile the hall calls will
only be registered but not responded to.
The system monitors the power consumption of a running elevator in real time
Wal t - ho u r met er
23 and makes relevant statistics. The current accumulative power consumption
fu nct i o n
can be checked through parameters U.021 and U.022.
A built-in real time clock in the system works for error recording, time-sharing
service and other time-relevant functions. Parameters A.002~A.004 are
24 Cl o ck fu nct i o n
respectively used to set current year/month, date/week, hour/minute, which
can be checked through U.005~U. 007.
Au t o -can cel i n g o f
The system cancels all the car calls when the elevator reaches the farthest

floor of the current operation.
di rect i o n
If no car calls or hall calls are registered over a period of time (which can be
Au t o co nt ro l o f set through parameters), the system will automatically cut off the power of car
26
l i ght i n g a nd f an lighting and fan. The elevator enters energy-saving mode until hall calls bring
it back to normal operation.
The Controller menu modes include 3 grades: Maintenance, Debugging and
Factory. r.003 is the factory password, r.002 is the debugging password, and
r.001 is the Operation Panel Password. The customer could visit the factory
menu by Operation Panel directly if there is no password, i.e. all the menus
are accessible. Only the debugging menu is accessible and some parts of the
menus are hided when a factory password is set. The factory menus could be
visited only when the factory password is input. Only the Maintenance Grade
27 P asswo rd l o ck
Menu could be visited by Operation Panel when Factory and Debugging
Passwords are set, so both menus are accessible only when the passwords are
input accordingly. The current Menu Grade could be checked by r.005. After
the password was set, when the operation panel is idle for more than 5
minutes, it will be locked automatically. The password needs to be reentered
to access the menu. To cancel the password, set the menus setting to 0 and
press Enter for saving.

stop operation.
When the elevator is under inspection or debugging mode, in compliance with
the operating conditions, the operator can jog control the elevator through the
inspection up/down button. Continuously pressing the button keeps the
elevator moving at low speed. Releasing the button stops the elevator
immediately. Under inspection operation, the elevator runs at a speed set by
Insp ect i o n &
d.001 (inspection speed). However, when the elevator reaches level 1 forced
30 Mai nt ena nc e
deceleration switch at end station, it will run at a speed set by d.004
o perat i o n
(non-normal speed operation). Acceleration/deceleration time under
inspection operation can be set through parameters as well. d.012
(acceleration time) indicates the time consumed to accelerate from 0 to the
inspection speed, and d.013 (deceleration time) indicates the time consumed
to decelerate from the inspection speed to 0.

When R.004 = 1, one-key commissioning function is activated and displayed

on the operation panel. Only most commonly used commissioning parameters
One-k e y are displayed for quick commissioning. There is no need of flipping over the
35 code page, i.e. next page/set of function codes will show up automatically
co mmi ssi o ni ng
after the last code of current page is chosen. The system will return to the
normal operation panel mode after the inverter is repowered on or the hand
panel in the car is adopted.

elevators for them. As a result, the total sum of elevator stops and passengers‘
riding time are highly reduced, which improves the elevator operation
efficiency. Meanwhile, the adoption of many advanced algorithms, including

3.2 Wire Connections between Peripheral Device and Controller

3.2.1 Precautions on Wiring Connection for Control Room:

1. The internal wiring connection must be performed only by the authorized and trained person
qualified in electrical work.

2. After turning OFF Inverter, wait for at least 5 minutes before opening the Cover of the Drive Board.

3. Check to be sure that the Voltage Grade of the Controller satisfies the main AC supply before
powering on. Otherwise Device damages or injuries can occur.

4. Please be sure to connect the Ground Terminal PE to ground.

5. Never touch the Inverter Terminals directly with your hand, and never allow the output lines to come
into contact with the Inverter Cover.

6. Do not connect the Power to Output Terminal U, V, W.

7. Always connect the Brake Resistor as shown in the Wiring Diagram, otherwise device damaged or fire
may occur.

8. The connection between Main Circuit Terminal and Conduct Wire must be fixed well.

3.2.2 Shaft Wiring

3.2.2.1 Requirements for Communication Lines of Shaft and Traveling Cables

① The Communication lines of the system should be the twisted pair lines, and the specifications are:

Characteristic impedance should be of 120Ω.

Cable Lay Length ≤30mm

Line Diameter ≥0.75mm2

② The distance between the Communication cables and Motor Cables must be more than 30 cm if the parallel
wiring is longer than 5m, to avoid the power cross-talk. If the wiring space cannot satisfy the requirements, the
shield Twisted Cables are needed and the Shield Twisted Cables must be grounded to the earth.

Instructions:

1. The Forced Deceleration Distance must be larger than the given value in above Table, otherwise the Shaft
learning will not be successful and Error 47 will be reported.

2. The Controller will save the Forced Deceleration Switch Limiting Speed values calculated according to
the Forced Deceleration height into codes E.026~E.028 and E.032~E.034 after finishing Shaft learning. The
43 / 394
E9 Serial Elevator Integrated ControllerUser’s Manual

system will report Error 43# if the Forced Deceleration Limiting Speed is less than the current speed when
in Normal Speed operating. You could go for elevator safety re-diagnosis by adjusting Forced Chang
Deceleration speed E.023~E.025 or Acceleration d.005, and operating the order of d.022=1 till the Fault is
fixed.

Please take the Calculation Formula below as reference:

S  V 2 ( 2  a) ,

V  Forced Deceleration Switch Limit Speed, S  Forced Deceleration Switch Installation Distance,
a  E.023~E.025 or E.029~E.031;

3. Please check if U.033 equals to 1 after shaft learning is finished;

4. The Shaft Forced Deceleration Switch Grade Selections: grade 1 Forced Deceleration Switch is sufficient
when the elevator speed is no more than 1m/s. Grade 1 or 2 Forced Deceleration Switch could be selected if
the elevator speed is more than 1.6m/s and less than or equal to 1.75m/s. Grade 2 or 3 Forced Deceleration
Switch could be selected if elevator speed is more than or equal to 2.0m/s and less than or equal to 3.0m/s.

5. E.006 is set to 1 if the minimum Installation distances of grade 1 Forced Deceleration Switch is higher
than the bottom floor height when the elevator speed is larger than 3.5m/s. In this case, this switch could be
installed lower than the minimum distance. However, too low installation is not suggested either. It should
be installed higher than 2.5m.

3.2.2.3 Up/down leveling Switch Position

At least 1 Leveling Sensor and several Shield Plates are needed in Integrated Elevator Controller for leveling
Control. 2 Leveling Photoelectric Switches and 1 Door Area Photoelectric Switch are needed if the Pre-open Door
Function and Stir-leveling Function are required. The detailed requirements to the Leveling Switch and Shield
Plate are shown as below:

Due to the Direct Stop Control of the Control System, overlong Shield Plate may cause inefficient elevator
parking at low speed, while over short Shield Plate may cause inaccurate Leveling or Uncomfortable elevator
parking at high speed. Therefore, please select appropriate Shield Plate.

3.3.5 Brake Resistor Specification Selections

The models with Rated Output Current of ≦85A possess built-in Brake Unit, and only needs to connect to a
resistor. The models with Rated Output Current of > 85A need to connect to Brake Resistor and Brake Unit.

The Brake Resistor is connected with + and PB Terminal. The heat sink conditions and adequate ventilation need
to be ensured for normal operation of the Brake Resistor. The recommended value and minimum value of the
Brake Resistor are shown in the table as below. It is strongly suggested that the resistance should not be lower
than the minimum value in the table. Moreover Power should be adjusted accordingly depending on different floor
height and working conditions due to necessary relation between resistance power and floor height.

Explanations: The 3-way RS485 Communication interfaces of J10, J11 and J13 or CN10, CN11, CN13 in
the CTB are the same. The system can identify the corresponding COP according to the different SW1
setting of Data-chosen Switch on the Instruction Board.

The Output Port Power Supply should be 24V, which is the same as that of the CTB when the door is
controlled by Open Collector Output of CTB. Please use Relay output control of CTB or of Main Control
Board if it is not 24V power supply.
