 One of the institution for housing at national
level

 Started on April 25,1970.

 Headquarters located at Delhi.

 Founded Mainly to develop the urban areas.

MISSION OF HUDCO:

 “To promote sustainable habitat development to


enhance the quality of life”.
OBJECTIVES:

 Gives technical and financial guidance

 Low cost housing schemes.

 Providing consultancy services for the projects


of designing and planning of works relating to
housing and urban development programs in
India and abroad.
HUDCO DIVIDES PEOPLE INTO 4 CATEGORIES:

 Economically Weaker Section(EWS)

 Low Income Group (LIG)

 Middle Income Group (MIG)

 High Income Group (HIG).

CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES :

 Mud block structure,

MUD BLOCK STRUCTURE :
 Un burnt sundried bricks for walls

 Economical

 One side of wall is tetracotta tile to make the exterior


wall water resistant.
STONE PATTI CONSTRUCTION :

 Extreme Durability nature , Beautiful alternative to tiles

 Ease of installation

 Able to withstand effects of acid rain , and is tough enough to endure freeze and
thaw cycle

 Requires almost no maintenance.


BAMBOO HOUSE :

 Eco friendly structure,

 Light weight , Long lasting and Renewable building material

 Incase of earthquakes , Bamboo house won’t cause any death if it collapses and is easy to
repair.
RAT TRAP BOND CONSTRUCTION :

 Requires approximately 25% less bricks and 40% less mortar than traditional
masonry

 Strength of the wall is not compromised , It remains same as the traditional


masonry wall

 Reduced material requirement results in considerable cost saving.


WATTLE AND DAUB UNIT :

 Wattle and daub is a composite building material used for making walls

 In which woven lattice of wooden strips called wattle

 Daub is a binding material consists of


1.) Binders (Clay , Lime , Chalk dust , Animal dung),
2.) Aggregates (Sand , Crushed stone),
3.) Reinforcement (Any fibrous materials).
