1. India is a country that is united in its diversity. There are different cultures, cuisines and languages
here. Prepare a glossary of words in the languages that are spoken in Goa, Assam and Coorg giving
their English meanings.

2. Given below is the classification of workers in North and South Goa. Analyse the given charts and
write a paragraph on your observations. (100-120 words)

3. As read in the lesson Glimpses of India – III – Tea from Assam, Rajvir is excited to see the tea
gardens and learns that tea cultivation is the main occupation of the people in there. The main
occupation of people in Goa is fishery and in Coorg is agriculture. Write a letter to the Editor of a
national daily to encourage the youth to look out for career options other than in the fields of
engineering and medicine.

4. Compare and contrast the climatic conditions of the three states and write a paragraph.

5. Look at the reference pictures given below of the traditional costumes of Assam, Coorg and Goa.
Select any one costume. Based on it, design another one.
