and courage.
The human emblem in blue, symbolizes the YOUTH particularly the BYSARDO.
The box marked with FICS represents the factors that influence BYSARDO such as family,
individual, community and school.
The round shape of the logo symbolizes the unending support and commitment to save
BYSARDO.
For many years, Limasawa National High School had been giving interventions to a number
of Students at Risk of Dropping Out (SARDO). But for the last three school years, data
showed that number of SARDO is rapidly increasing which could mean that interventions
given were not effective due to one reason that teachers did not conform to the process set
by the school in identifying SARDO, and reasons for being SARDO so appropriate
interventions could have been given.
For this year school year 2016-2017, data showed that the number of SARDO reached up to
88 .Fourty-two (42) of this are the identified BYSARDO or Bystander-Students at Risk of
Dropping Out and 26 of this are from Barangay Magallanes. Thus, the study focuses on the
correct process to conform in saving BYSARDO of Barangay Magallanes.
Currently, the teacher identifies the SARDO through the Quarterly Grades and Attendance
Sheet and identifies the causes or reasons for being SARDO through interview with the
classmates. The teacher then prepares the SARDO Watchlist and submits it to the SARDO
Coordinator. The SARDO Coordinator then submits the consolidated watchlist to the School
Head and the School Head calls for a meeting with the teachers to discuss and decide on
the interventions to take for SARDO like home visitation.
In the future, it is expected that the teacher will conform to the correct process set by the
school in saving SARDO through the following. Identify the SARDO based on quarterly
grades and attendance sheet, identify the causes or reasons for being SARDO through
interview with the SARDO and parents/guardians of SARDO, prepare the SARDO Watchlist
then submit it to the Guidance Coordinator. The Guidance Coordinator then conducts a
meeting and counselling with the SARDO and submits after, the report to the School Head,
then the School Head conducts a meeting with the teachers to discuss and decide on the
appropriate interventions.
Team Visit or home visit as a team. It is the class adviser and subject teachers as a team
who will conduct home visitation to BYSARDO and their parents.
We, the Saving Team through the shared responsibility of the Family, Individual, Community,
and School envision three years from now, a zero BYSARDO, institutionalized process in
saving BYSARDO, and maximized student involvement in the teaching-learning process.
