The Implementation of Quality Function Deployment

This document discusses the implementation of Quality Function Deployment (QFD) in the tire industry. QFD is a method developed in Japan in the 1970s to translate customer requirements into technical requirements for new product development. The objectives of this study were to design new tire products according to customer needs using QFD, and to enhance competitiveness through marketing strategy renewal focused on customer needs. Based on a QFD analysis comparing customer satisfaction ratings of different tire manufacturers, split liner design, pattern design, and compound technology were identified as the most important technical requirements for tires, accounting for over 30%, 25%, and 22% respectively. The researchers recommend quality improvement strategies for the tire industry based on these key customer needs.
