Universal Design for Learning (UDL): For principle one I may have students who do not speak or have
difficulties understanding or reading English. For this I would provide transcripts for any text or audio in a
language that they understand. For principle two equipment or rule modifications will be made available for
students that need them. For principle three I will have the kids play games for an allotted amount of time
and then have students rotate around so that students have the opportunity to play with a variety of other
students.m
Lesson idea implementation:
Students will be playing games of spikeball while teachers patrol the gym. Teachers will be making sure
students are staying on task and playing the game by the rules. This game will be more student's exploration
rather than following cues to skills. Students will be given access to the Sway presentation and will look it over
for homework prior to the lesson. Students will already come into class with an understanding of how the
game is played. The lesson will take a 50 min class to complete. Student learning will be assessed by their
ability to play the game by the rules as explained in the Sway presentation. The final product will allow for
students to have an understanding of how they game is to be played which will allow for more time to play
the game and be active during class.
For students that show greater ability playing the game and express interest playing in a more competitive
game this option will be made available. This will give those students to work with students close to their skill
level and allow other students that don’t have as good of a skill level to work with students closer to theirs

which will allow them to be more successful. I will conclude the lesson by asking students questions related to
how the game of spikeball is properly played to check for their understanding. While students are playing, I
will be watching and providing feedback if I notice any of that group's gameplay does not match the rules of
spikeball.
Reflective Practice:
The activities will give the students an understanding of how the game of spikeball is played before coming to
class which will allow them to have more playing time in class. There is not much that can be done to further
the lesson. I believe that spikeball is a game that best suits student exploration. I believe they will learn more
by just playing the game rather than practicing skills that are involved. Therefore, there would not be much to
the lesson just having the students look over the Sway presentation for understanding of the game and then
play spikeball in class. Edpuzzle would be another great tool giving them a video to watch of actual gameplay
will give the students an even greater understanding of how the game is played.
