Does Supernatural Exists

The document discusses the existence of the supernatural and argues that there is no evidence that it exists. In three paragraphs, the author claims that reported ghost sightings lack evidence and could be lies or dreams. The author also argues that if ghosts were real, there would be many more reported sightings throughout history in places like New York City after 9/11. Finally, the author asserts that supernatural beliefs may stem from failures of human senses and imagination rather than actual experiences with ghosts or spirits.

Does the supernatural exist?

If you were to consider such a thing as the supernatural, I am sure you would have doubts that it exists. I
can't prove that the supernatural is just a figment of one’s imagination, but in my personal opinion there’s
no such thing as the supernatural. Today many people believe that they have seen ghosts yet no evidence
other than personal amusing stories have been collected. These amusing stories could be lies or, the
persons who claim that they have witnessed these supernatural things must have been dreaming. I am sure
before the end of this discussion I will convince you that the supernatural element is all an illusion.

Interesting to note is the fact that if ghosts or spirits are real why aren't there reported sightings all
over NYC after 9/11. Shouldn't the old WTC ruins be haunted by ghosts or restless souls? Shouldn't there
be ghosts everywhere given the amount of people who have died throughout history on this planet? It is
not often that people report persons who have actually seen or encountered an animal ghost or an animal
spirit. Why is it always said that it’s humans that haunt and not animals? Don't they have the same
biological functions?

This clearly shows that most of the people who are responsible for the stories and fake pictures or videos
are lying because if there was such a thing like a spirit there should also be the same number of animal
spirits that have been reported or photographed. They have never made a picture of a haunted dog and
made a big deal or a big issue out of it. There might be some animal spirits that were reported -like
Bigfoot and Lochness but these are only two compared to the number among humans. This shows also that
they want people to believe in ghosts even though they are not true. I have many friends whom I consider
reliable and who speak of ghostly incidents. However, I think that some people are simply more
exposed/susceptible to believing in things like ghosts than others are, and since I've never had a ghostly
experience myself I can't disprove that idea. The main reason behind my disbelief in ghosts and spirits is
the way in which they are exactly what we expect them to be from pictures, conforming to our simple
human ideas of what ghosts should be like.

An equally important point is that people who believe in God would also believe in the Devil. So they might
believe in ghosts and demons that appear or come from hell but I am pretty sure they have never seen one.
I am told to believe in demons and creatures from the dark because of my religion. I am a Hindu and in this
religion there are many stories of demons and sprits who are destroyed by God. People who are very
religious like my grandparents, believe in these creatures, demons and people with supernatural abilities.

Some people believe in supernatural creatures or things because of their personal experience. But what I
am trying to say is that all these crazy things could be just their imagination. Unbelievably, there is a
friend of mine who truly believes in the supernatural because of a specific personal experience. Everything
started at his summerhouse when his mother went outside to throw out the trash. It was raining heavily.
He was looking out through the window. Suddenly he saw this man holding an umbrella over his mother. My
friend knocked on the window to get his mother’s attention and when she turned around she did not notice
that man at all but my friend could see him right in front of her. When his mother came inside she was not
wet and everybody at the summerhouse was shocked. I surely think this is an illusion but my friend does
not believe me. He thinks that all of this is real and that there was definitely a man holding an umbrella
over her.

Surely you will agree with me that we don't consider the complex processes that our brains go through
every second to identify the world around us, and we certainly don't consider that sometimes our senses
might fail us and we might feel, smell or see things that are not really present.

I hope I’ve been able to convince all of you that the supernatural doesn’t exist –that ghosts are not real
and that you cannot believe everything that is said on the computer or TV.
