Advantages of Busbar Trunking System

The document discusses the advantages of busbar trunking systems over cable systems, including that tap-offs can be added or removed live, they save space due to their compact size, have more even current and voltage distribution than cables, allow distribution boxes to be placed anywhere along the busbar, avoid improper connections, require fewer breakers than cable systems, produce less combustible energy, are safer during electrical faults due to smaller conductor sizes, have lower voltage drops, contain no PVC which produces toxic smoke when burned, reduce electromagnetic field exposure, and are fully recyclable.

Advantages of BUSBAR TRUNKING SYSTEM

 Tap-offs can normally be added or removed with busbar live

 Space Saving due to its compact size

 Not uneven distribution of current and voltage like in cable

 Due to tap-off boxes, distribution box can be done at any point

 Avoid the improper connection like in multiple runs of Cable

 Need only one outgoing breaker for each riser while in cable 1 outgoing breaker required for
each circuit. (Explain Later)

 Less combustive energy because of usage of low volume of insulation material and is halogen
free

 Safe in electrical fault due to limited conductor size of each circuit

 Due to less impedance, Bus bar has low Voltage drop as compared to cable

 Schneider Busway contains no PVCs When PVCs burn, they produce large amounts of smoke
that can be a serious safety hazard.

 Schneider Busway reduces the risk of exposure to electromagnetic fields due to its tightly
spaced design conductors in a metal enclosure.

 Schneider Busway is fully recyclable

 Schneider Busway reduces your line losses by 20 %
