Narrative Report of the School Learning Action Cell Session

Learning Action Cell (LAC) is an opportunity for teachers’ professional development

because through this, they are engaged in a collaborative learning sessions to solve share
challenges encountered in the school.

SLAC Session is very helpful in terms of teachers’ upgraded knowledge on the

changes in the curriculum. It will enable teachers to align their plans in lesson planning,
methods of giving assessments to the students as well as several school activities to such
changes implemented by the department.
Malativas National High School also engages in this session wherein teachers can
also share their expertise to their comrades based from the training that they have attended.
With this type of collaboration, camaraderie and cooperation are the values gained which are
very essential in maintaining a good environment in the workforce.
Last September 15, 2017, Malativas National High School conducted a SLAC
Session about making of Daily Lesson Log. This was the chosen topic by teachers since there
is really a need to adapt in this new trend of lesson planning. Teachers were in need of
information in terms of the new format and the new contents of the daily lesson log.
Due to the aforementioned reasons, we invited speaker from our partner school, the
Litttle Panay National High School, to give us enlightenment to this topic. We selected Mr.
Allen V. Laureta to share his expertise to this matter.
The session has started at exactly 1:00 p.m as stipulated on the program design. Mr/
Dominador B. Pentin, our School Principal gave his short message and so as to give us
introduction to the session and to our resource speaker. After that, we immediately proceeded
to the session proper. Mr. Laureta gzve us introduction on our topic and stated some
Department Orders that mandates the use of Daily Lesson Log.
He immediately continued with his discussion by explaining to us the different parts
of the Daily Lesson Log and provided us with some examples. Some teachers made some
clarifications regarding the end part of the daily lesson log which is the reflection. They had
asked whether it is necessary to fill in those parts. The resources speaker replied that there is
really a need to fill in those parts since it will serve as an evaluation on your teaching and
learning process.

After the discussion, the group proceeded with the workshop on writing a daily lesson
log. With the guidance of the resource speaker, teachers were able to make a draft on the said
paper. Over all, the session ended well, teachers were able to learn about writing a lesson log.
