Integrative Assessment

'Integrative assessment' is 

assessment design that seeks to combine students' learning from


multiple modules and/or levels into a single assessment. Such assessments are synoptic,
meaning that students are required to make connections between knowledge and learning that
span multiple modules and topics.
WHAT IS INTEGRATED ASSESSMENT? Integrated assessment is the
simultaneous assessment of two or more related units of competency, and it is an efficient and
authentic evidence gathering process, because it more closely reflects the real nature of work.
This is also known as holistic assessment.
Integrated assessment is a process that combines and blends the learning outcomes from
multiple modules into a series of streamlined, realistic, case-oriented activities. ... Teachers
should select an assessment strategy or strategies, which are “most” relevant to their students'
learning outcome.

The key to building integrative learning will be designing assignments, activities and units that


include reflective thinking, supporting and providing evidence of students' examination of
their learning and the connections they make to their evolving personal, professional and civic
lives.

Integrative learning is the process of making connections among concepts and experiences so
that information and skills can be applied to novel and complex issues or challenges.

Integrative learning is an approach where the learner brings together prior knowledge and
experiences to support new knowledge and experiences. By doing this, learners draw on their
skills and apply them to new experiences at a more complex level.

What is integration of subjects?


An integrated curriculum is described as one that connects different areas of study by
cutting across subject-matter lines and emphasizing unifying
concepts. Integration focuses on making connections for students, allowing them to
engage in relevant, meaningful activities that can be connected to real life.
