Lesson Study is a teacher-driven practice in which teachers collaboratively set goals,
plan, research, and study their lesson instruction as a way to determine how students
It is a professional development practice in which teachers collaboratively:

• consider their long-term goals for students (e.g. the departments’ goals for student
learning)

• plan a Research Lesson based on careful study of existing materials and research

• teach and observe their research lesson to collect data on student learning

• use their observations to discuss and refine their lessons and instructional strategies
