Izar RDC Standard: Radio Receiver

The IZAR RDC STANDARD is a radio data concentrator designed for smart metering applications. It receives radio telegrams from meters using the Open Metering System specifications and stores the data at adjustable logging intervals. The device can support between 100 and 1000 meters. It transmits the logged data securely to a central FTP server for further processing. The IZAR RDC STANDARD provides remote configuration, firmware updates, and data filtering to support large-scale smart meter rollouts in a cost-effective manner.

APPLICATION
The DIEHL Metering Group’s IZARRadio Data Concentrator STANDARD is a
Smart Metering transceiver based on the Open Metering System Specifications
(OMS-S). Interoperability, data logging, remote configuration and prepared
bidirectionality make it a core product for future full-coverage Smart Metering
roll-outs with a multi-utility approach. The IZAR RDC STANDARD is designed
for implementing a radio fixed network with excellent cost-effectiveness and
technical specification.

PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION
The IZAR RDC STANDARD receives radio telegrams to the OMS standard independent of the medium used. These are saved at the set
logging interval using an optional device list or filter function (e.g. according to medium). The data packets are sent at the set upload
interval to a central FTP server, where other systems can load the files from a “collection point” for further processing without the need
to address each receiver individually.
A subsequent individual or higher-level configuration or a firmware update is also controlled via the central FTP server.
