2PROFED07 Principles and Methods of Teaching

1. Learners have distinct natures that affect how they learn. Teachers must understand each student's personality, skills, weaknesses, and learning style in order to engage them in the classroom and adapt their teaching approach. 2. Recognizing individual learning styles allows both students and teachers to improve the learning process. When teachers understand the different ways students learn best - visually, auditorily, etc. - they can incorporate varied teaching strategies to increase engagement for all learners. This gives students more control over and ownership of their own education.

Activity1: Discuss.
1. What is the nature of the learner? What are the implications of these to the teaching
learning process?
Learners’ nature is distinct from one another. Their attitude towards learning depends upon the
profiles they have. For example, a grown-up has a psychological need to be self-directing and take
charge of their own learning. They usually prefer some control over the place, pace, and time they
learn. They may vary in interest, traits, abilities, convictions, maturity and level of understanding. In
teaching, a teacher ought to have the skills of a great manager to run the classroom legitimately. This
suggests that a teacher must know in depth about their students from race, demeanors, skills, and
weaknesses. When the teacher knows about their personalities, it’s simple for him/her to form
participation amid classroom errands. In terms of attitude towards learning, the teacher can adjust
students learning styles and behaviors. The educator can alter student's interests by helping them
highlight their skills and modify their lapses. In addition, the learner could be a union of a conscious
body and a rational soul. It implies that each of them had the qualities of a person with one of kind
characteristics. The educator, in this manner, must apply a humane shape of approach considering
that anything his/her procedures will incredibly influence the learner.
2. How do learning styles of students affect teaching and learning?

The term “learning styles” talks about the understanding that each student learns different from
one another. The concept talks about the particular way in which the students assimilate, handle,
comprehend, and retain information. Through recognizing the learning style both learners and
teachers can make a huge difference in teaching and learning. As an educator, by essentially
understanding what kind of learner our students are, we are able to pick up a much better perspective
on how to implement these learning styles into our lesson plans and their study techniques. We can
synthesize different strategies for the benefit of different learners. With the use of that, I believed we
can increase the engagement and student's deeper understanding of the subject if we let them access
the information through the use of their favored modality. This sort of strategy can encourage
students to reflect on their preferred ways of learning, giving them more ownership and control over
their own learning.
