Pakistan Independence Day Poem

The poem describes a country's green flag that sways high like a falcon in flight, with the green representing the plains, rice, and wheat of Punjab; the poet says they can never forget the green flag with its moon, star, and stripe that lights up their life and will continue to sway high.

The Green Falcon

By Saba Kashif

My country’s flag sways so high

High as the falcon’s flight when it shrieks
My country’s green is the epitome of
the Punjab plains, rice and wheat

Others can forget, but never can I

The green and moon, star and stripe
May its shadow lighten our lives
For my country’s flag will sway ever high
