Task 1
In ancient times, there lived a beautiful woman named Dayang Sumbi. He has a son who is
named Sangkuriang. Both of them live in a house together with a loyal dog who always looks
after the mother and child. Nobody knew that Dayang Sumbi was actually a goddess from
heaven, and the dog named Tumang was her husband. Dayang Sumbi and Tumang were cursed
by the gods because of a mistake. They had to come down to earth and live as a human and a
dog. Both accepted and served the sentence gracefully.
Young Sangkuriang was very fond of hunting. While hunting, he was always accompanied by
Tumang. They are both very adept at hunting prey. Tumang chased the deer, forest bahi or
rabbits until they were cornered, then Sangkuriang speared the game. Nearly every time they
finished hunting, the two of them brought a lot of animals to eat or sell.
One day, Sangkuriang went hunting again with Tumang. The young man saw a deer, and wanted
to hunt it. He gave orders to Tumang to ambush the deer and then chase it. After sneaking around
so that he would not be caught, Tumang immediately chased after his prey
But it turned out that the deer ran very fast, much faster than any other deer they had hunted.
Sangkuriang who joined the chase from behind was panting out of breath. After a while, he
arrived at the riverbank and saw Tumang sniffing in confusion.
How angry Sangkuriang was. he wanted the deer so badly, and they had run so far to chase him.
Angry, he took a stone from the riverbank and threw it at Tumang. The stone hit his head and
knocked him down.
Unfortunately, there was so much blood on Tumang's head that the dog finally breathed its last.
Sangkuriang cried sadly. He regretted his actions, but the rice had become porridge. Her beloved
dog has died.
Dayang Sumbi drove her child out of rage. Sangkuriang left the house with a wounded forehead
and a painful heart. He walked erratically, heading wherever his feet went. Wandering from one
area to another.
For years Sangkuriang traveled and from that trip he gained a lot of knowledge from one school
to another. Apart from being an intelligent young man, he was also the son of a goddess so that
he could easily get supernatural powers from various universities. Day by day, his power grew
stronger and Sangkuriang used it to help people who were in trouble.
Until he returned to his village, but no one recognized him until his mother saw the scar on his
head and just recognized him.
he approached his mother and fell in love with her, and he did not believe that Nawang Sumbi
was his mother.
Sangkuriang's anger did not stop there. He also kicked the big boat until it bounced far away. His
magic made the boat fall upside down and turned into a mountain. Until now, the mountain that
looks like an inverted sampan can still be seen, its name is Mount Tangkuban Perahu.
2nd Malin Kundang
In a village, there lived a poor woman. He lives with his only child, his name is Malin Kundang.
Everyday this woman works as a fisherman. However, their income cannot meet their daily
needs so that their lives are always in need. When Malin Kundang was growing up, he decided to
go to the city. He wanted to try his luck there.
With a heavy heart, his mother allowed it. Now, her mother is back to being a lonely old woman.
After Malin's departure, his mother always thought about his son's condition. He became sickly,
while Malin never sent word for him.
One day he wanted to see his village. He departed with his wife as well as slowly. But he was
arrogant and didn't want to acknowledge his mother so that his mother was very angry and
cursed him to stone
Once upon a time, there was a handsome young man. His name is Awang Sukma. Awang Sukma
wandered into the middle of the forest. He was amazed to see the variety of life in the forest. He
built a tree house on a very large tree branch. He lives in the forest in harmony and peace. After
living in the forest for a long time, Awang Sukma was appointed the ruler of the area and
received the title "Datu". Once a month, Awang Sukma toured his area, and he arrived at a clear
lake. The lake is under a shady tree with lots of fruit. Birds and insects live happily there. The
next day, when Datu Awang Sukma blew his flute, he heard a loud noise in the lake. Between
the piles of broken stones, Datu Awang Sukma peeked at the lake. Awang Sukma was very
surprised and surprised when he saw 7 beautiful girls playing with water. The seven beauties
were unaware that they were being watched and ignored their scarves, which were used as flying
tools, scattered around the lake.
One of the scarves is located near Awang Sukma. After taking a scarf close to him, Datu Awang
Sukma immediately ran to hide again. However, while running, he accidentally stepped on a dry
branch. They hurriedly flew away from the lake wearing their magic scarves. But apparently
there was a girl who couldn't find her shawl. She has been abandoned by all of her sisters. She
was very scared and sad to be left alone. At that moment, Datu Awang Sukma came out of
hiding. He pretended to accidentally pass by the lake and then asked what happened. The
youngest daughter also talked about what happened to her.
After that he married awang sukma and had children. but after that he found his shawl in the rice
barn. He then took the shawl and returned to heaven.
Once upon a time, Prambanan was defeated by the Pengging Kingdom led by Bandung
Bondowoso. Prabu Baka died on the battlefield. He was killed by Bandung Bondowoso who was
very powerful.
Bandung Bondowoso then occupies the Prambanan Palace. Seeing the beautiful daughter of
Prabu Baka, namely Roro Jongrang, there was a desire to marry Roro Jongrang.
Roro Jonggrang knew that Bandung Bondowoso was the one who killed his father. Therefore, he
looked for a way to reject it. Then, he proposed the conditions for the construction of 1,000
temples and two deep wells. Everything must be finished overnight.
Bandung Bondowoso agreed to Roro Jonggrang's requirements. He asked his father for help and
mobilized an army of spirits to help him on the appointed day. At four in the morning, only five
temples were left unfinished and the two wells were almost finished.
Knowing that the 1,000 temples were almost finished, Roro Jonggrang was scared.
Finally, he went to wake the girls in Prambanan Village and ordered them to light the torches and
burn the straw, hit the pestle on the mortar, and sprinkle fragrant flowers. The atmosphere was
bright and boisterous. A red tinge flashed across the sky in an instant.
The rooster crowed and shouted. Hearing that voice, the spirits immediately left their work. They
thought it was morning and the sun would soon rise. At that time there was only one temple that
had not been built.
Bandung Bondowoso was very surprised and angry that his business had failed. In his anger,
Bandung Bondowoso cursed Roro Jonggrang into a statue to complement an unfinished temple.
The stone statue of Roro Jonggrang is placed in a large temple room. Until now, this temple is
called the Roro Jonggrang Temple. Meanwhile, the surrounding temples are called Sewu Temple
(Thousand Temples) even though the number has not yet reached 1,000.
