Information Theory and Coding: Instructions To Candidates

This document contains instructions for a test on the subject of Information Theory and Coding. It has three sections - Section A with 10 short answer questions worth 2 marks each, Section B with 5 medium questions worth 5 marks each requiring students to attempt 4, and Section C with 3 long questions worth 10 marks each requiring students to attempt 2. The document provides examples of the types of questions that may be asked, such as defining key information theory concepts, explaining encoding methods, calculating channel capacities and efficiencies, and constructing Huffman codes. It also includes standard instructions about the test format and policies.
