In This Version...................................................................................................................................... 4
Technology Improvements.............................................................................................................. 5
5G-NR support ............................................................................................................................................... 5
LTE-Advanced-Pro support .......................................................................................................................... 5
• Technology improvements:
o Added support for both TSME and PCTel scanners with Keysight Nemo
o Improvements to RSRP / RSRQ format group ranges
o SIB2 decode failure rate KPIs
• Platform improvements:
o New feature for multi-panel maps
o Improvements to KTR sector layer export format
5G-NR support
• Support added for both PCTel and TSME scanners in Keysight Nemo
LTE-Advanced-Pro support
• Support added for LAA TDD scanner measurements in PCTel / DataPro tools
• Added new SIB2 decoding rate KPIs for Qualcomm chipset devices. SIB2
scheduling is taken from SIB1, and the failure rate calculated from a check on the
CRC field:
o LTE_UE_SIB2_Decode_Fail_Rate
o LTE_UE_SIB2_Decode_TotalAttemptCount
o LTE_UE_SIB2_Decode_FailedAttemptCount
• Added support for additional call states in format groups for attribute:
o Couei_Call_State_Voice
• Support added for multi-threaded data tasks such as those used in high
throughput FTP tests:
o Event_Task_Start now only set once at the beginning of the test, not at
each thread
o App_Layer_Active now set at FTP DL/UL Connected message
o Setting of Task_File_Size
o Task_End_Result and Event_Task_Fail set at FTP Download Timeout /
Upload Fail messages
o App_Throughput_DL and App_Throughput_DL_Max now set
o Task_IP_Protocol now set during FTP Upload tasks
o Multiple repeated PING instances are summarized at the end of the task
• Resolved a problem where some older TEMS files were opened but no message
content was being decoded.
• Improvements have been made, related to resolution to the serving cell at time of
handovers, using the PCI in the RRC Reconfiguration message, and ECI in the
SIB1.
• Resolved a problem where some ff2.36 files were not being loaded.
• Resolved a problem where time was not handled correctly for scanners, as it
already was for UEs.
• Resolved a problem where PING test attributes were not being set.
Format Groups
• Improvements have been made to the DataTestType format group.
• Improvements made to 5G-NR ranges for RSRP and RSRQ format groups:
Before After
• Improvements have been made to the LTE Carrier Aggregation report template,
for:
o Throughput per carrier
o CA configuration usage statistics
o EARFCN usage, for CA duration, and number of bytes received
(available for Qualcomm chipset devices only)
Licensing
• Improvements have been made to allow support of USB dongles under Windows
10 (build 1803).
Map
• This month a major improvement to the map has been included, supporting
multiple independent panels in the single map window, for 64-bit installations.
o When in a multi-panel view, an icon in the top right corner denotes the
“master” panel to which all other panels will adjust themselves to, once
multi-panel sync is enabled.
o Some map toolbar settings are not sensible when considering a multi-panel
use-case, so have been disabled. Most functions are still available from
the right-click menu of an individual panel, and contextual to that panel.
• Fixed a problem where disabling BING map background layer made no change to
the drawing of BING tiles.
• Improvements have been made to the export of cell layer icons to KML format,
representing the azimuth and beamwidth, as can be seen in the Google Earth
imported KML overlay shown below:
