PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:

 To study the effective management of port capacity and commodity handle in


Chennai port trust.

SECONDARY OBJECTIVE:

 To study the traffic department role in Chennai port trust.


 To determine the kind commodities that move through port.
 To analysis growth of cargo volume in last three year.
 To evaluate present port capacity.
 To study over all logistic operation Chennai port .
 To determine the future trend of cargo traffic in the port.
Scope of the study

1. The study covers the overview of Chennai Port Trust and its operations.
2. Detailed analysis of shipping cargo traffic trends, growth drivers, technology
and innovation.
3. This report gives broad view of cargo wise traffic and future outlook of the
shipping industry.
4. The report describes the various modes of discharge of cargo in and out of the
port and the factors affecting the operations.
5. The study describes the need for improvements to be made in the
infrastructure to handle the growing trend of cargo.
