Wedding Witness Declaration
Wedding Witness Declaration
INSTRUCTIONS:
A.Statement of witness for I-129F Form:
Any family member or friend can write what they know about petitioner and beneficiary. Consider
this witness statements as our " circumstances of meeting" but from a third person. This is a great
help, as the USCIS does not have to take only Bret and my word for it all.
2) We have a genuine relationship and you give support and approval. (Will be nice to have you
both as our wedding witnesses)
3) "reduce" red flags of denial. (cultural difference, many years of age gap,family/friends not
supporting with excitement the engagement and future marriage)
1) Primary Goal: Witness confirms that U.S Petitioner and Beneficiary have met in the past 2 years.
And should know one or both. Support this with facts and correct dates. Was the witness there at
the engagement? Or another time in the past when Bret and I were together?
2) Second Goal: The witness knows and assures we have a genuine "bonafide" relationship.
Support with experiences dealing with us both. Has the witness personally met us in person?,
Talked/texted/chated with us? (when, where ,how: Be as precise as possible with dates or if you
will refer to a chat/text in facebook, whats up, etc screenshot to add it as a proof)
Witness tips:
Add Supporting Documents: The witness can add supporting documents such as photographs,
video calls, screenshots of chats, call logs, phone records, airline tickets or itineraries when
met/shared Beneficiary and U.S Petitioner time-space, etc, If Witness claim something regarding
your relationship. (Be as precise as possible, any inconsistency or mismatch date from declaration
to the supporting proof or social media (which USCIS and U.S Embassy will use as legal proof of
legibility since Trump´s new law approval in October 2017)Any mistake can be interpretate as a lie.
Add Witness ID: Add a photocopy or scan it and upload to our google drive so we can print it out.
Can Witness get Legal trouble?: Witness may be in trouble if lies, alters or changes information
about something , as it is a "Sworn" declaration under penalty of perjury. However, chances USCIS
or U.S Embassy will take legal actions against the witness are very unlikely almost zero %. They
may simply ignore Declarations if they have doubts or are not good enough to support the I129F
Form, anyways try to avoid issues for you or the US Petitioner and Beneficiary.
There is no formula or rule on how to create a Witness declaration, but this may help you to
organize all information and get supporting documents for it. (we can atry to help you finding the
supporting documents). The format I will use is the one used in every declaration statement this
K1 I129F packet has, the information works as example. Check Template next page:
