The rubric evaluates research papers on integration of knowledge, topic focus, depth of discussion, cohesiveness, spelling and grammar, sources, and citations. An excellent paper fully integrates course concepts, has an narrowly focused topic and thesis, in-depth discussion throughout, ties all sources together cohesively, has no errors, uses over 5 current sources including peer-reviewed articles, and cites all sources properly. An unacceptable paper fails to integrate knowledge, has an unclear topic, shallow discussion, lacks cohesiveness, has many errors, uses fewer than 5 sources, and does not cite sources.
