DICOM Conformance Statement May 21, 2003
0. Introduction
This document provides the conformance statement for PrintServer application
software incorporated in Sony Film Station UP-DF500.
1. Implementation Model
PrintServer is either one Application Entity or two Application Entities having identical
functionality. Print Server provides standard DICOM Verification Service Class and
Print Management Service Class interface.

2. AE Specification
PrintServer provides standard conformance to the Verification Service Class and
Print Management Service Class as shown in Table 2. It may have one or two AE
Titles, depending on configuration. AE Titles are user programmable. If two AE Titles
are programmed, two entities act independently with identical functionality. That is,
two sets of printers share the same network hardware interface, but they are
logically independent with separate AE Titles.

Note 1
String value “FORMAT6” of (2010,0030) Annotation Display Format ID attribute
enables Annotation text print at maximum 6 locations; top left, top center, top right,
bottom left, bottom center and bottom right corners of the film.
Note 2
String value “1” to “10” of (2010,0150) Configuration Information attribute represents
GAMMA correction table number to be used for printing. Table #1 (linear) through
#5 are factory preset tables. Table #6 through #10 are user defined GAMMA tables.
With any other values, the printer will use its own current default setting.

Note 1
PrintServer does not limit value range for (0028,0010) Rows and (0028,0011) Columns.
If SCU chooses to send scaled pre-formatted image in “STANDARD¥1,1” Image
Display Format, it is recommended to set Row=5060 and Columns=4224 for
“PORTRAIT” orientation or Rows=4224 and Columns=5060 for “LANDSCAPE”
orientation and to set (2010,0060) Magnification Type to “NONE”.
For the best printing performance, it is recommended not to pre-format. Sending
scaled pre-formatted image (one scaled image per film) causes longer network
transfer time and significantly slower printing performance.
Note 2
(0028,0034) Pixel Aspect Ratio value is ignored, if (2010,0060) Magnification Type
specified for the Film Box is “NONE”.

3. Communication Profiles
3.1 Supported Communication Stacks
PrintServer provides DICOM V3.0 TCT/IP Network Communication Support as defined
in PS 3.8.
5. Configuration
The following parameters are configurable using Web browser interface.
- Local IP Address, Sub-net mask and default gateway IP Address
- AE Title of the primary printer
- AE Title of the secondary printer (If blank, secondary printer share the same AE
Title for the primary printer)
Port ID is fixed at 104 for primary printer and 4104 for secondary printer.
