Lesson Plan in Community Engagement, Solidarity and Citizenship (CESC)

Grade 12 HUMMS

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, 95% of the students should be able to:
a.) Recognize the value of undertaking community action modalities
b.) Assess selected community action initiatives.
c.) Present an infomercial to show ways on promoting the roles of youth in
community action.

II. Subject Matter

III. Procedure
A. Preliminaries
a.1 Checking of Attendance
a.2 Setting of standards
“Good afternoon class! How are you today?”
a.3 Review
“Who can remember our topic yesterday?”
“That’s correct”
“What is community?”
“Please give the types of communities”
“Very good”

b.1 Motivation
The teacher will flash a video about team work title “Animal Ant Team Work”
“What do you think are the ants doing in the video?”
“How do you see the value in the video into our community?”
“How do we achieve unity?”

b.2 Activity
“Since this is virtual learning and you, my students, haven’t met me yet or know
me personally. I will present my photos here and we will have a short activity”.
The virtual class will have a game name “Two truths and a lie” about each pictures
of the teacher. The students will guess which a lie in the three statements is.

First statement: I was forced to go with them cutting grasses, and planting veggies I
in a rural area.
Second statement: I was in Silang, Cavite.
Third statement: This is a voluntary service given to a family in a rural area.

First statement: They all helped us plant and cut grasses in a rural area.
Second statement: There were two Americans among us.
Third statement: We ate raw veggies afterwards.

First statement: I was in our church youth activity in Eden Park.


Second statement: I was called as a counselor of these fine young men and women.
Third statement: We had no trainings, workshops and lessons taught in this
activity.
First statement: I voluntarily joined a special community service in Dawis
Elementary School.
Second statement: This photo taken 2 years ago in Dawis Elementary School.
Third statement: I was 20 years old in this photo.

First statement: I was invited to have community service to a family in Brgy.


Ruparan, Digos City.
Second statement: We planted corn seeds using our feet.
Third statement: We swam in the scripture river afterwards.

b.3 Analysis
The teacher will ask these following questions.

“How do think is your role in the community development?”


“What can you contribute to the community you have”
“What are the major issues that arise affecting the poor and marginalized
communities due to lack of solidarity?”
“How can we help our community to be better?”
