The goal of the department is..................... • To provide timely and appropriate treatment to
every new patient coming to the triage
• To efficiently manage the patients admitted in
HDU/ MICU
• To provide world class ambulance services
The scope and complexity of services provided • ER deals with both medical & surgical patients
by this department is............... of all age groups with diverse diseases relating to
various specialties
• Patients in HDU + MICU need collective and
interactive environment for decision making
with the Concerned Consultants/ SMO/ MO etc.
• Ambulance calls are unpredictable for which
doctors have to be diverted from their other
duties in ER
The methods used to assess patient needs in • Services are customized on the basis of clinical

• Those requiring ventilator / Ionotropic support +
intensive monitoring are managed in MICU

The types and ages of patients served are...... • Usually adults of ll ages
• Occasionally pediatric cases also
• 70 % of the patients have medical problems &
• 30 % are surgical in triage

• Response time of the consultant
• Duration of triage stay due to non availability of
beds in wards/ HDU/ ICUs

• Cutting down on the admission, discharge time
• Cutting down on the time taken to indent
medicines from the pharmacy
• Better stocking up of the pharmacy

• Junior consultant supervises work in HDU,

• ACLS training for every doctor
• BTLS training for all ambulance staff in the
coming year
