Here’s the 9 provinces from different Region and their famous artworks.

Batanes – Region II – Cagayan Valley

Stone Houses

The Ivatan houses are not the typical houses you can find in the Philippines. The Ivatan people, an ethno
linguistic group of the Batanes province in the northernmost part of the country, built the now-famous
stone houses for a very good reason: to protect them against the harsh environmental conditions.

Praying Mother & Child

A composite painting with pvc wire strips used to decorate the hair of the mother and child's blouse.
Within the mother's hair is the classic Batanes image of a stone house. Behind them should be
the Sabtang lighthouse.

Pampanga – Region III – Central Luzon

Parol

The parol is made with bamboo sticks and papel de japon (Japanese paper) illuminated inside by candle
or carbide. Today, these lanterns are lit up either with light bulbs manually operated with various
switches or LED lights for dancing light sequences that give joy not only to kids but to everyone.

Kumpas Kapampangan

Eric Perreras is a Filipino Kapampanga painter born in Angels City, Pampanga in 1986. A self-taught artist
until later on it became his profession by heart.

El Nido, Palawan – Region IV-B – MIMAROPA

Palawan Handicrafts Mask

The handicrafts are usually made by the indigenous tribes of Palawan who sell their work in the city
usually made of wood that they harvest from their environment. These handicrafts depict their art and
culture which adds up to the cultural and heritage value of the indigenous peoples of Palawan.

Living Treasure

Rubber cut is created when the artist curves his image and prints, the reverse using press or rubbing
hands.

Bicol – Region V – Bicol Region

Abaca Enterprise Flourishing

With the many possibilities you can discover with abaca, there is no question why many venture into
business with it. Bicol is the largest producer of abaca in the Philippines which is why many abaca
enterprises are in Bicol. Abaca has helped people start enterprises close or right at home, and be able to
serve locally and internationally.

Hermes Alegre paints the Filipina

Multi-awarded artist Hermes Alegre is renowned for his women – on canvass that is. His paintings are
mostly beautiful dusky women depicted in a fantasy of foliage. Art critics have described his works as
“portrait-like renditions of women with an uncanny sense of movement.” Looking at his paintings, one
gets the impression that the figures are actually alive.

Benguet – CAR – Cordillera Administrative Region

Wooden Scooter

A top wooden motorcycle scooter of Benguet. The model is handmade by expertized craftsman.

Stobosa Hillside Homes

A busy and dull nook turned into a colorful artwork. The place is collectively known as Stobosa, an
acronym for the sitios of Stonehill, Botiw-tiw and Sadjap in Barangay Balili of Benguet’s capital La
Trinidad. Today, Stobosa is considered as an icon of transformation, drawing tourists and inspiring cities
from all over the country and the world.
