Short Summary of The Model by Bernard Malamud


Ephraim Elihu, an amateur painter, rang up the Art Students League to ask for a
female model as his model for his paint nude. Then, Ms. Perry was the model of his painting.
On the Friday, the model came to his house and did her job as a paint nude model. After a
while, Ms. Perry felt that Mr. Elihu wasn't serious about painting himself but just had fun
looking at his naked body. Therefore, Ms. Perry gets annoyed and leaves even though Mr.
Elihu tried to explain it.

The Central Incident of The Model by Bernard Malamud


When Ms. Perry knew and felt mad that Mr. Elihu only had a fun for looking her nude body,
it become a central incident of this story. It is because this incident became an incite of the
story.
