II. Subject Overview

A. INTRODUCTION

This course deals with the concepts, underlying principles, processes and
implementation of a business plan. The preliminaries of this course include the
following: 1) discussion on the relevance of the course; 2) explanation of key
concepts of common competencies; 3) explanation of core competencies relative
to the course; and 4) exploration of career opportunities. The Part 1 which is The
Development of the Business Plan introduces the learners to the different types
and purposes of a business plan, as well as its contents and format. The learners
are then introduced to the OSSS (Opportunity Seeking, Screening and Seizing)
framework where they will learn to scout for opportunities, evaluate the many
possible opportunities found, focus on the most promising ones, and eventually,
establish an enterprise to actualize the best opportunity chosen. The Part 2
provides the “how to’s” of starting and operating a simple enterprise. It will give
learners essential working knowledge about the different critical management
functions (operations, finance, and human resource) and the management process
that are critical in running an enterprise.

To pass this subject , you must:
