1. Differentiate ordinary from scientific method of identification?


 Ordinary method of identification uses open source and of human sources for example of this is
“Informants” this refers to a person who gives information like identifying a person while
scientific method of identification uses of ACE-V (Analysis, Comparison, Evaluation, and
Verification) Analysis is the assessment of an impression to determine suitability for comparison.
Comparison is the observation of two or more impressions to determine the existence of
discrepancies, dissimilarities, or similarities. Evaluation this is where an examiner assesses the
value of the details observed during the analysis and the comparison steps and reaches a
conclusion and, Verification a review and independent analysis of the conclusion of another
examiner.

2. What are facies? How can we use it for identification?


 Facies is the appearance or expression of the face, especially when typical of a certain disorder
or disease. We can use facies by using the ordinary method of identification because we can
base all the information on all person that are close in our subject.

3. What are barr bodies? What do they signify?


 It is also sometimes called the sex chromatin, is the inactive X chromosome in female somatic
cells. Human females have two X chromosomes, while males have one X and one Y. In all of the
female somatic cells, which don’t take part in sexual reproduction, one of the X chromosomes is
active, and the other is inactivated in a process called lyonization, becoming the Barr body. Barr
body can be easily identified with ordinary stains. It also helps in identifying the sex of an
individual when used judiciously.

4.Differentiate a male from a female skeleton?


 A female’s skeleton is usually much smoother and less knobby than a male’s. A male’s skeleton
is usually thicker, rougher and appears bumpier. Due to the fact that males have larger muscles
and therefore their skeletons require stronger attachment sites.
