Rehearsal Expectations and Contract - ITW
Rehearsal Expectations and Contract - ITW
1. Respect yourself. If you feel unsafe, say so. Your physical and emotional safety is
important.
3. Be on time. If you are going to be late for any reason, call Tate Clemens at (+1 (913)
981-3522). If you are late more than 2 times without communication, the director has
the right to replace you.
4. Dress appropriately and come with your voices and bodies warmed-up and ready
to rehearse. If you are unable to do the work, you run the risk of being taken out of
that number/scene.
6. Always have your script, a notebook and a pencil to take notes. Do not use phones,
laptops, or other communication devices while in rehearsal, even while the director
is giving notes at the end of the night. You may use them on your breaks, but you
are expected to be present while rehearsing.
a. Due to the structure of this show, there will be nights where you will have
down time at rehearsals. The characters weave in and out of scenes
constantly. Please feel free to work on homework or other things you need
to get done while you are not being used onstage. You are free to use other
spaces in the building to work, but make sure to check in with the stage
manager and stay close so you are in PAH when you are needed.
10.The director reserves the right to adjust the rehearsal schedule at any time but will
always give a 12-hour notice.
11.Actors will assume they are called for a TBD rehearsal unless otherwise notified.
12.Actors are asked to acknowledge their own background, culture, and lived
experience. The actor will work with the director to facilitate an understanding
when approaching the work that enhances and celebrates their own culture and
identity of self. The actor will work hard to expand out of their own lens when
needed and hold space for their personal and artistic growth, as well as the growth
of your castmates.
15. Special COVID-19 Protocol: The Singer’s Mask will be required at all rehearsals.
Actors will practice proper social distancing of at least 6-9 feet and avoid all
personal contact. Anyone present in the rehearsal space must wear a face mask at
all times – no exceptions. Doing so is not only a requirement in this rehearsal space
but is also a campus-wide policy. I will ask those who choose not to wear a mask to
leave the theatre and, following guidance from the Provost’s office, I will alert the
dean of students’ office. As a last resort, if a person without a mask refuses to
leave class, I will contact Drake Public Safety. Everyone must sanitize upon entry to
the rehearsal space and have their temperature taken before stepping into the
room. No personal belongings will be allowed in the rehearsal space (except for a
water bottle, script and note-taking device). Should you start to experience COVID-
19 symptoms, do not come to the rehearsal space. Please contact the stage
manager immediately to inform them you will be participating in rehearsals via
Zoom.
