Intake Design

This document provides calculations to determine the minimum submergence required for an intake pipe with an internal diameter of 305mm and a bell mouth diameter of 489mm. It analyzes the minimum submergence using several standards and requirements, finding that the minimum ranges from 1.03m to 1.48m. A graph shows the minimum submergence water level required for discharges from 25 to 425 L/s using Padmanabhan's requirements.
