For the least among you all, that is the one who is great

I was quite amused when I heard how a particular organisation had actually
increased the number of titles within the structure to allow some employees to be
promoted and gain a higher salary. It almost seems like it is their right to be
promoted after a particular time. The readings of today’s Gospel reminds us of how
there is a need to remain humble amidst all the things required of us to do.

This is something which we need to reflect upon in our lives because we live in a
world where there is an emphasis on being the best and fastest. These traits are
the reasons which get us recognized and enable us to be superior amongst others.
However this is not the way which Christ invites us to follow. WE need to remember
that the Christian living is one of acknowledging our weaknesses and to work with
one another to journey towards receiving our eternal reward.

God reminds us that we are His people and this is a freedom which we enjoy because
of the way we live. There is a way we can show others what God expects from us and
this is through our actions. Our actions will allow others to learn what it means
to be a Christian and encounter Christ in their lives.
