Mechanics of Solids Unit - I: Chadalawada Ramanamma Engineering College

This document outlines the units of study for the Mechanics of Solids course. Unit I covers topics like elasticity, plasticity, Hooke's law, stress-strain diagrams, and thermal stresses. Unit II discusses shear force and bending moment diagrams for different types of beams under various load conditions. Unit III focuses on flexural stresses, bending equations, and shear stresses on beam sections. Unit IV examines torsion of circular shafts and the torsion equation. Unit V looks at stresses and strains in thin and thick cylinders. The document lists reference textbooks for the course.
