The Nature and Purposes of Online Platform is one of the topics that you need to learn and
understand in our subject. This Learning Activity Sheet is good for 1 week.
At the end of the lesson, you are expected to create a blog using the online platform of
your choice about the history, amenities, and facilities of the hotels here in Laiya. You may

In the earlier years sometime in the 1990s, creating a webpage or a website was a skill required a
mind of computer programmer, working on standard lines of computer code that need to be
memorized to produce basically flat but colorful document. Nowadays, it is so much easier that a
high school student with enough creativity could assemble textual and visual parts that are
already interactive and fun for the user. Moreover, websites have evolved into tools and platforms
for discovery, sharing, connection and co-creation.
Online Platform is technologies that are grouped to be used as a base upon which other
applications processes or technologies are developed.

There are many good reasons to create a blog. You may want to practice your writing,
create a following, establish your brand, or use blogging as a marketing tool to increase site
traffic. It’s also a great way to connect with like-minded people.

- Among the best blog sites, the self-hosted version of WordPress is, by far the most
popular blogging platform in the world. WordPress powers over 90 percent of all the
blogs on the Internet.
b. Blogger
Medium is a publishing platform founded in 2012 by one of the people behind Twitter.
By now, it has become a popular community for writers, bloggers, and journalists.
In addition to the ability to write blog posts, it also comes with limited social networking
functions. You can comment on other people’s content and “like” it (likes are called
“claps” on Medium). The audience is built into the platform.
d. Squarespace
Squarespace is a drag-and-drop website builder which is aimed at small business
owners. It’s a great all-in-one solution for non-technical people and offers hosting,
domain registration, and the possibility for e-commerce. It also has blogging capabilities
which are the reason why it’s among the best blog sites out there.
e. Tumblr
- The service is a micro-blogging platform optimized for short-form content. It also has
a community behind it and social network features.
