Background
A mere thought that evolved into a constant natter amongst a group of
concerned Addu youths was the beginning of TakeCare. With the desire to
change, fueled by a dream of a better tomorrow, TakeCare was registered
under the 2003 Association Act of Ministry of Home Affairs as a
nongovernmental organization in October 2008.

Introduction:
TakeCare is a Non Governmental Organization working for the socio-
economic development of Addu.

As an NGO, we focus to achieve our aims by means of collaboration,


coordination, and networking with relevant government institutions
associations and other authorities, in addition to advocacy and lobbying.

Currently we have over 300 registered members at TakeCare.


Our belief is that change should come within, and we shall not blame another
for our inadequacies, without us playing our part first. We believe in self
empowerment and community empowerment at large.

All our aims and activities would be based upon the doctrine of caring. Caring
about places neglected, virtues tarnished, and socioeconomically
disadvantaged people.

Our Vision:

We aspire a socioeconomically empowered community in Addu.

Our Mission:
Build a caring society in Addu where Human Rights is protected and people
live in harmony with their environment and care for each other, by enhancing
unity among all, empowering youths, working for the development of
children, safeguarding our environment, reviving traditional handicraft
works, and preserving heritages sites.

Our Motto:

Redefining the way we care!

Our Aims:
At take care all our activities would be centered upon achieving five main
aims based on strengthening five main key areas of life. They are the people,
youth, children, environment and tradition.

Our aims are:

1. Enhancing social cohesion within our society.


2. Empowering youths and eradicating drug abuse.
3. Protecting and promoting human rights.
4. Safeguarding our environment.
5. Revving traditional handicraft works and preserving heritage sites.
6. Raising awareness among the people on various social and economic issues.

Our Achievements:
- An active member of Human Rights Commission of the Maldives.
-Partner NGO with RajjeFoundation.
-Number one Youth-driven NGO in Addu Atoll.
-Our office was opened on 17th April 2010.
-300plus and increasing Members
- Has gained recognition, and support of the community in a short period
time.
