Teachers Induction Program

Module I Session 3

Read the paragraph below then choose three phrases that best describe
your own philosophy in the teaching profession. Justify your answer.

1. Teaching is a noble profession as well as a vocation that calls to the heart of an

individual. The teacher plays a vital role in the lives of the learners, hence they
are called heroes of the new generations. They touch lives and influence others
—making a big difference to the lives of the learners. Teachers should take
pride in upholding the qualities of being a professional and to live according to
the expectations of teaching as a profession and as a vocation.

a. Phrase 1: Teaching is a noble profession as well as a vocation that

calls to the heart of an individual.

professionals go through education with a teacher. It's also a
process to prepare the next generation of skilled professionals and
workers like politician, engineers, doctors, policemen, priests,
educators, and other professionals.

b. Phrase 2: The teacher plays a vital role in the lives of the learners,
hence they are called heroes of the new generations.
Justification:
Teachers have a huge impact on the learner's lives not only by
teaching them a lesson on the book but also being a second parent
to guide the students in achieving their goals in life.
a. Phrase 3: They touch lives and influence others—making a big
difference to the lives of the learners.

what pedagogy. I will use it to deliver holistic learning.

However, I need to improve my qualities in terms of being organized on facilitating

different kinds of students.

Post-Test

Resolve the issue.

Is teaching more of a vocation or more of a profession?

For me, teaching is more of a vocation, being a teacher is not all about meeting students,
check their attendance, teach them a lesson but it's also about guiding them,
understand and love them as a sibling or as own child. As teachers, we work not only
for the money but also for the happiness we give to ourselves when we see our students
learn good values and understand the importance of education.
