COURSE DESCRIPTION

The aim of this course is usage of the English language required to


perform a specific function. This is to be taught as a core subject
aiming at a good command of English required for academic study
and career progression.

The module is designed for beginner level students introducing the


basic strategies for effective communication in English language. In
addition to reading and attending lectures, students are expected to do
regular problem-solving exercises at the end of every chapter intended
to consolidate their growing understanding of English language.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:


learn the basics of Functional English Language which are essential
for spoken and written communication.
In order to enhance language skills and develop critical thinking, a
grammar component will serve as a remedial necessity to help
overcome their common errors in English Language.

COURSE PREREQUISITES
Students are prerequired to have basic level comprehension of English
Language
