Salem Karrab received his BSc in Metallurgical engineering from the University of Tripoli, Libya in 1987, and received his MSc in corrosion engineering from the University of Manchester in 1998 and a Ph.D. in corrosion engineering from the University of Assiut, Egypt in 2013. He has 17 years of experience in inspection and corrosion control in the utilities, refinery, and petrochemical industries. Currently, he is a Lecturer of materials science at Misurata University where his research interests include aging mechanisms of electrical insulation and electrical materials. He also serves as Head of Quality Assurance at the Faculty of Engineering and is a member of the cooperation committee between LISCO and the University of Misurata

Salem Karrab was born in Misurata, Libya, in 1963. He received the BSc.

degree in
Metallurgical engineering from the University of Tripoli, Libya, in 1987, and the
MSc. degree in corrosion engineering from University of Manchester“ UMIST”, UK,
in 1998 and Ph.D. degree in corrosion engineering from University of Assiut, Egypt
in 2013. He has 17 years experience in the inspection and corrosion in utilities,
refinery and petrochemical industry with Rasco . He has performed work at . At the
present time, His research interests include aging mechanisms of electrical insulation,
insulation systems testing, polymers breakdown, electrical and water treeing, and
electrical materials (dielectrics and composites). Salem Karrab is Lecturer of
materials science at Misurata University.
