Pharmacy Management System

INTRODUCTION
Pharmacy management system of mustabal pharmacy is a management system that is

designed to improve accuracy and to enhance safety and efficiency in the pharmaceutical
 store. It is a Web based system which helps the Pharmacist to improve inventory

management, cost, medical safety etc. it’s an interactive application for managing both

stock and billing which helps in maintaining the records of the medicine, the users and

store details and also reduce the work of searching the medicine. The aim of the

application is to apply technology is supporting the pharmacist and the store to reduce the

human effort on searching and automation of billing.

This project concerned about developing a Pharmacy Management Systemof mustabal

pharmacy that will be used simplify and manage pharmacy data. The purpose of this

project is to manage all data derived for a pharmacy to maintain their business through

the system rather than recording their data manually which is more risk to the business to

maintain and to avoid loss

At present, manual system is being utilized in the pharmacy. It requires the pharmacist to

manually monitor each drug that is available in the pharmacy. This usually leads to

mistakes as the workload of the pharmacist increases.

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Due to the size and quality service of the pharmacy, the pharmacy has a very large

customer base. These customers tend to visit the pharmacy for services mostly when they

close from work. At this period, the number of customers that patronize the pharmacy is

on the increase, thereby making the workload of the pharmacists much more tedious. This

case makes it difficult for the pharmacist to attend to customers in a short period.

Meanwhile the pharmacist has to ensure satisfaction in services to keep their customers.

The factors mentioned above, results in delay of the services being rendered to the
 customers, thereby slowing down sales and risk losing valuable customers in the long

run.

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

Pharmacy management has kept paper record in filing cabinets. Managing a very large

pharmacy with records on papers will be tedious and difficult to keep track of inventories

with regards to the drugs in the store, quantity of drugs available. The pharmacist has to

order drugs to replenish the already diminishing stock. In addition, ordering of drugs is

being carried out manually. Significant amount of time is allocated for writing the order

as the pharmacist needs to go through the stock balance and make rough estimate of the

amount to order based on Figures.

RESEARCHQUESTIONS
The research method used for this project work gives a description of how the pharmacy

management system for mustaqbal hospitals’ pharmacy and stores, will be developed.

Therefore the method used in the design and collections of information from various

sources are as follows:

1- What the nature of the current system of mustaqbalpharmacy?

2- What are requirements of proposed system of mustaqbalpharmacy?

3- How to design front-end and back-end of the new web based system of mustaqbal

pharmacy?

4- How to code and test the new proposed system off mustaqbal pharmacy?
Purpose of the project

Thepurpose of this project is to manage all data derived for a pharmacy to

maintainbusiness through the system rather than recording their data manually which is

more risk to the business to maintain and to avoid loss.

It’s alsoto improve accuracy and to enhance safety and efficiency in the pharmaceutical

store by developing a software for the effective management of a pharmaceutical store

that will full fid the necessary needs of the store by using this system

Project objectives

Objective of the project the overall objective of this project is to establish a System for pharmacy

of mustabal pharmacy so as to improve the performance and efficiency of pharmacy’s

management. In order to achieve this goal effectively, there are some specific objectives should

be implemented.

1- To study current system for pharmacy management systemof mustabal pharmacy

2- To analysis new web based system for pharmacy management systemof mustabal

pharmacy

3- To design system for pharmacy management systemof mustabal pharmacy

4- To implement web based system for pharmacy management systemof mustabal pharmacy
SCOPE OF THE PROJECT

The system will be developed for Pharmacy Management system of mustaqbal pharmacy

The scope of this project is limited to the activities of a pharmaceutical store which

includes will improving health outcomes, reduce hospital and long term care admissions,

enhance access and care in the Estate and surrounding communities and ensuring best use

of resources, the use of a web based management system for improving the efficiency

Of a pharmacy is needed and it is an essential part of any modern continuously evolving

society.The proposed system will be finished within 6 months using PHP and MYSQL

This project is intended to fulfil graduation requirement for undergraduate degree at

faculty of computer science and information technology in Hormuud University which

located in Mogadishu - Somalia

Significance of the project

Significance of the study Pharmacy management system of mustabal pharmacyhas its

own significance to the pharmacy. Using this system, help to get all records registered , it

help to the admin to control and over view all the work and admin controls the manager,

the cashier and the pharmacist . And this system is minimizing the risk of getting loss

because all transaction recorded to the system and viewed if needed.

The following are specific objectives for this project.

- To provide easily accessibility of customers management

- To provide easily accessibility of stock reports

- To provide easily accessibility of Employees records etc.

- To minimize human errors.
