“A Wrinkle In Time: A Tribute to the 80s”

November 11, 2020

Theme Rationale:

The era of the ‘80s is believed to be the Golden Age in terms of music, television and other forms of entertainment. Ask
anyone who grew up in any decade and they will tell you that the ‘80s was a fun time to be around, simply all forms of entertainment
were at their best during this era. In line with this, we, the students of BSN-3B Group 1 Subgroup 1 decided to use this particular
theme for the program that we will be conducting in Good Shepherd Home Care. We want the residents to remember the feeling of
being back in a time of their youth and give them a day full of meaningful fun and laughter as they reminisce about the past and at
the same time enjoy good music and company.

Objectives of the Day

Within the 8-hour visit, the students will be able to successfully initiate a whole-day program of activities intended to promote
holistic wellness and at the same time, entertainment and nostalgic fun with the theme, “A Wrinkle In Time: A Tribute to the ‘80s”.
More specifically, the student nurses aim to:

a. Construct a comprehensive plan of activities to ensure the success of the whole-day program;

b. Formulate objectives related to the planned activities;

c. list all the materials needed for the prepared activities;

d. Tabulate the planned activities with their corresponding date, time, objectives, materials used and locus of
responsibility;
e. Prepare the venue for the program;

f. Assign committee heads for logistics, food and the programmed;

g. Establish rapport with the residents;

h. Assist residents in doing their activities of daily living;

i. Start the program with an opening ceremony and salvo;

j. promote physical wellness through morning exercise/stretching;

k. Execute the prepared games and activities giving 80s vibes;

l. Give out beneficial gifts for the winners; and

m. End the program with closing remarks.
