The Dubai Development Authority is introducing a new system for submitting project drawings for approval that will streamline the approval process. Starting February 21, 2016, all registered consultants and contractors must submit drawings related to buildings, fit outs, and infrastructure on CD format except for application forms and related documents which should be in hard copy. The CDs must be labeled and organized according to the new guidelines specified in the document. Once reviewed, the DDA will convert approved drawings to PDF, apply a digital stamp and issue the CD without signature which can be collected from their customer service desk.

SUBJECT: DDA Development Control: New system for submission of project drawings

As part of our commitment to the continued improvement of service efficiencies, Dubai


Development Authority is introducing a new and enhanced system for the submission of project
drawings.
From 21" February 2016, we request that all registered consultants and contractors submit
project drawings related to Buildings, Fit Out and Infrastructure on CD format to DDA Development
Control, except for the application form and other related documents which should be in hard
copy. This will assist us in streamlining the approval process whilst enabling simplified digital
archiving.
Please note that the digital document specifications for CD submission are as follows:
§ Drawings should be Al size, in DWF format, and in black and white/ monochrome, except for
perspectives, shaded area diagrams, and design revisions (for which the proposed changes
need to be highlighted by clouding)
§ Drawings to be arranged sequentially and in separate folders relating to each discipline,
with each folder and its contents following a clear naming structure, as follows:
o Folder naming: 'Arch' for Architecture; 'Struc' for Structural; 'Mech' for
Mechanical; 'Elec' for Electrical; and 'Infra' for Infrastructure.
o Document naming: Discipline, Sheet Number, and Drawing Title
o e.g. 'Arch-l_Setting out plan', 'Struc-l_General arrangement'
o For CD labelling, please refer to our previous Clrcular-164, as per the attached

When the review is completed, DDA will convert the approved drawings to PDF format, apply a
digital stamp and issue without signature in CD format. The CD can then be collected from our
Customer Service desk, which is located on the First Floor, Building 2, Dubai Studio City. For a
