(AC-S04) Week 04 - Task Assignment - A trip to the past

Through this activity, students write a text about a famous Peruvian


person from the past, using the verbs in past as well as the vocabulary studied
during the week. 

Today we will be talking about an important character in the history of Peru. We will talk

about Miguel Grau Seminario, he is also known as "The Knight of the Seas". He was a

military sailor, from a very young age he was very passionate about the sea and

developed a very brilliant military career. Miguel Grau was born on July 27, 1834 in

Paita. He commanded the national squad during the Naval Campaign of the War

against Chile. He fought on board the monitor "Huáscar" in several combats, among

the most important are those carried out in Iquique and Angamos. His name is due to

actions such as ordering the rescue of the castaways from the Esmeralda, an enemy

ship that he had just sunk. Miguel Grau died in the battle of Angamos, on October 8,

1879, in which after a fight in inequality, showing courage and courage, he fought to

the end.
