Course Code, Title:
C-BEENGECON: Engineering Economics
(3 units lec)

Course Description:
This course provides concepts of the time value of money and equivalence; basic economic study
methods; decision under certainty; decisions recognizing risk and decision admitting uncertainty.

Course Outcomes
Cognitive (Scientia)

1. Demonstrate in depth knowledge and understanding of the nature of the subject area.
2. Encourage students think logically, work systematically and be responsible for their
computations.
3. Give principles underlying the fields of Engineering Economics.
4. Acquaint the students with the most recent trends, investigations and research in order to
arouse in them the desire to keep a breast with the progress in the field .

Affective (Virtus)
1.
1. Manifest patience, creativity and diligence in recognizing and understanding all the
important concepts in the subject.
2. Demonstrate positive attitudes towards the engineering profession.
3. Characterize humility, concern for others, courtesy and openness to correction in doing
engineering and economic class activities.
4. Exhibit team work and camaraderie in group and class activities related to the topic.

Grading System:

Students’ academic performance at the end of each term shall be expressed by marks
specified in the numerical grading system adopted by the University. The meaning and equivalent
