Our Service Department participates in the development of new models at the early stage with
emphasis on improving the quality of our service activities. As part of such efforts, we requested
Construction Equipment Technical Center 1 to develop a machine monitor panel equipped with a
variety of functions. This is their answer to our request. We recommend that everyone in the
distributor’s parts and service department utilize these functions to the fullest and upgrade job
quality. This issue outlines the major features of the new machine monitor panel. The function is
integrated into the articulated dump truck and wheel loader machine monitor already introduced.
For further details, see the shop manual.

Control button
(With 10-key pad input function)

An action code is indicated when a machine failure occurs.

Controlling by switching button displays 6-digit code and DB telephone number (the
machine has to be registered at the time of delivery) interchangeably.
6-digit failure code

The service mechanic can easily select the necessary

replacement parts before departure for the jobsite.

The 6-digit failure codes are the same as those used in the labor flat rate system for
warranty claims, thus assuring consistency in job processing. In the future they will be
adopted on all upcoming machine monitor panels on new models.

turning on the ignition switch.)

The “Maintenance Indicator” function, that was optional, has now been added to the monitor
panel as part of the standard specifications with button control. It shows the remaining

It makes measurement equipment like a hydraulic oil
Monitoring
pressure gauge or a tachometer virtually unnecessary.
The monitor panel enables you to measure hydraulic oil 010 Engine Speed

pressure as well as the engine speed and revolutions of 011 F pump pressure
other rotating parts. It also enables you to check if each 34.0 MPa
sensor is functioning properly. 012 R pump pressure
33.5 MPa
The monitor panel allows you to retain data by simply
pressing a button. (Displayed Data Holding Function)
hold return

Moreover, the monitor panel enables you to take 4

different measurements at once.

Switching of the operation mode setting is possible during monitoring while retaining the
selected and displayed item.

The new monitor panel has the following features:

(1) Failures are indicated with a unified 6-digit failure code.
(2) Four different mechanical system measurements can be taken at once.
(3) A “Maintenance Indicator” function has been added. (Filter and Oil Replacement Time
Display Function)
(4) Failures in the mechanical system are newly covered in addition to those in the electrical
system.

By naming it Equipment Management Monitoring System (EMMS), we made it a helpful

system for managing the overall machine instead of just a failure diagnosis tool. Along with
the standard maintenance indicator, the system does not allow you to erase the mechanical
system failure history in order to increase the machine’s resale value in the future. Be sure to
thoroughly explain this service mechanics and sales people.
